Not get a lot of hair compliments?

It's rare for me to get an unsolicitated hair compliment. When I stop to think about it, it makes me wonder if I should be insulted! But then again, when I do get a compliment it seems to mean that much more! Anyone else?

I very rarely get compliments or comments, but I think part of it is the vibe I project. I was told I would get lots of comments being pregnant, but I don't really get any of those either. Must be my "Don't F with me" look.

i used to get a TON of compliments from people I don't know when I had really long hair, but since I've gotten it cut short i hardly get any. I think my hair kinda made me stand out when it was long, and not so much anymore.

But then again, too few to mention...
I don't get them often. It doesn't bother me, there are so many other curlies in NYC that it isn't easy to stand out. On the flip side, I don't get rude remarks either, so... I used to get frequent compliments when I was younger, it makes me wonder if most people were straightening back then or something.

I guess I'm in the minority here, I get compliments all the time. I'm a hairstylist(for 13 years now) and I get compliments from clients frequently and also when I go to Aerial Beauty Supply, the girls there gush over my curls. I was just there today and the straightie went nuts over it and told me how lucky I am and that she's glad I'm not a curly who straightens.

My only negative comment about my curl is from my sister's hubby, he tells me I have 80's hair. I tell him, "at least I have hair"

I also get compliments from random strangers.

Soo......I don't know, people around here like curl.

I get compliments on a somewhat regular basis. But since I got my Devacut last week, the amount has just about tripled. It's kind of odd, my 2 grademates kept me afterschool the other day for 15 minutes talking about my hair!
2c or 3a Cut most of my hair off in July '12 and am working on regrowing it.
I think I got a compliment the other day. A young woman behind me said I had the most beautiful hair (that was nice!), then she said if she had my hair she would grow it soooo long. Mine is a little above my shoulders (my husband cut it a few weeks ago, did pretty good too!) Anyway, I took it as a compliment.
i get compliments, even on this wild and savage mop of doom, whenever i wear my hair down. but i don't think it is ever because it looks particularly ravishing, but rather because i wear my hair down somewhere around twice a year. people are generally just shocked that the contents of my two little buns is nearly waist-length-long.
I used to never get compliments for my hair, that changed when I started CG. They're still rare, but I love it when people notice the change.

i get compliments on my hair pretty often. i also get comments about how MUCH hair i have and how hard is it to manage ALL THAT hair and how a woman of a cERTAIN AGE can have ALL THAT hair. cracks me up esp since my hair is quite thin and i usually do not have more hair than the other person. must be the cotton-candy effect......

When I first went curly, I got a lot of compliments. But I don't anymore. But I don't care. I don't expect compliments. What bothers me is when people ask "Did you perm your hair?" as if it ISN'T possible for me to have curly hair naturally. THAT drives me nuts.

I am curious. How often do all of you compliment someone on their hair?

I must admit, I rarely walk up to a stranger and tell that person how much I like their hair, even if I have admired it from afar.

There's probably lots of folks out there looking at your hair that are just afraid to say anything.

i have often complimented people on their hair and they are usually quite happy to hear it. some say how much they've hated their hair. it's a mitzvah if you can get up the nerve!~

If they have great curls, I will say something. You girls would laugh, My DH and I went to Lancaster for the weekend, we were coming out of a store when this old couple ( they were both using walkers) stopped us and the lady says "Oh honey is that your real hair? It's beautiful, can I touch it?" My husband had to help hold her so she could touch it! We laughed so hard and my DH says "aren't you going to tell her its thanks to NC.com!"

I rarely get hair compliments which feeds into the "does my hair look okay" factor everyday. Hubby is my number one curly hair supporter, so he gets that question almost daily. I try to remember that I will often admire someone's hair - friend or stranger - and neglect to compliment them. So, I'm hoping/praying/assuming that that's how it works in reverse .
