I think I may have been mistaking damaged fraying ends for what was actually dry ends. I trim myself quite a bit, whenever I feel nasty ends. Now I am starting to think that the ends I've been cutting have just been dry and couldn've been saved. So now that I am trying to grow my hair really long, I don't wanna cut unless it's an actual split end. I want to join a growth challenge and moisturized my ends a lot to avoid that crispy feeling that sends me reaching for my scissors.

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free,maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

There are some grow out challenges in the growing it forum and in 3b.

I know what you mean about those crispy ends. My hair gets that way really easily. It's really important to catch them in the dry stage because split ends are coming up next.

Have you tried adding leave in, and sealing it with a tiny bit of butter or oil, to protect the ends, every (other) day or so? I am starting to pay particular attention to my ends because neglecting them in the past has really been an impediment to growing my hair out to where I want it to be.

I hate those ends...I've just been assuming they were spliting or damaged and cut them off. I use leave in every shower, sometime regular conditioner and sometimes b2b pom/peach. I know I need to DT more so I'm gonna commit to at least once a week. I might also try putting some olive oil and honey mixed with conditioner on my length and putting a plastic bag on it. On the days or nights when I'm home alone.

My hair would get extremely dry toward the ends...until recently. I've started using kinky Curly knot Today or V05 Strawberries and Cream Conditioner as leave-ins. And they have really helped. (I put some kind of gel on top.) These two products work soooooooooooooooooooooo much better for me than anything else. And I've tried a lot!

I think I have a protein issue so I can't do the VO5 strawberry conditioner. I know I had less of a problem when I wan't using gel at all but the no product look only holds for so long and is not always consitant so I needed something more. I'm maybe gonna try adding some oil on them everytime I condition and then the whole DT thing. They are really annoying though!
