Boots Curl Cream has been discontinued - need ideas

hey greciancurls,
just wondering how the curl spray went?
I noticed yesterday that my local Boots still has two jars of the curling cream left compared to three last week, so I think that it must have been just me and one other person who had been buying it!

My hair has gone off it but I still have two full and one almost full jars from a 3 for 2 offer - so if anyone in the UK wants one or all of them, PM me and I can post them to you - first come, first served (I wouldn't want any money for them, maybe just the cost of the postage depending on how expensive it is).
Hairtype: 3a at sides/front, 2c at back.
Hey curly52,

ok, so i used the mark hill stuff as follows:

- upside down rinse
- sprayed my hair all over with it
- gently scrunched a little with a curl-ease towel
- diffused till about 50% dry
- sprayed a little more
- diffused some more
- finished off with a little spray of it on dry hair

As a styling product used alone, i don't really rate it. It doesn't really encourage clumps, instead you get skinny curls but it does encourage spirals so its not all bad. Its mostly kept my frizz at bay although i do have one area of just "blah" on my head, kind of mush rather than curl! I think i was expecting a little too much from a spray, i really need more hold / clumping especially when diffusing, it might have coped with air-drying a little better. As a final product on dry hair to encourage curls its very good and i'd probably use it for that purpose and refreshing curls.

On the ingredients side it does have alcohol denat and polyquat-11 so i probably won't re-purchase.

I nearly picked up Umberto Gs curl friends scrunching jelly and curl spray, i might try those next pay day!!
fine 3b curls and spirals - first goal BSL!!

HG's - Body Shop Honey shampoo & conditioner and Shea Moisture leave-in condish which gives me lovely frizz-free bouncy curls. My PJ is calling me to experiment with gels again... argh!
Lol could have told you the Mark Hill was no good - I get my hair cut at their salon.........

I'm currently using a curl cream by L'oreal - white bottle with orange cap - I use it under a gel and I'm getting pretty good results with it - excellent curl clumping and definition, and it's quite moisturising.

Hi, have just joined up so I can share in the horror of Boots Curl Cream vanishing, have searched countless stores in London and my home town!

I wondered if anyone had contacted Boots to ask if its definately gone? I have sent them an e-mail and received an automated one back saying they will respond in two days - fingers crossed!
I sent an email a while ago, have heard nothing (there's a god chance I ended up in the junk mail folder - that happens with my email address). Let us know if you hear from them and I'll hunt up the address and post it here for anyone who wants to send in a note.

I rang Boots Customer Care today and they have not brought out an alternative or replacement.

I think we should all email Boots Customer Care about this

Thanks CiC. I emailed them.

Desparate about the disappearance of this wonderful product, I too, e-mailed Boots on the above link today and had a telephone reply from a very sympathetic representative. He told me that they are planning a relaunch of the curl cream in January. He didn't know anything about the planned formualtion, but I stressed the importance of no silicones/alcohol etc. He seemed to take it all very seriously. Funnily enough, he hadn't heard of this product before, but this week has had several e-mails! So maybe there's a chance our work may pay off!

Maybe they'll get rid of that annoying tub packaging this time. As far as I remember, the last time they relaunched it, it was exactly the same.

That's great if they are bringing it back in Jan, might even have enough to get me through (have always feared they may stop it and keep a big stock) Tried the Trevor Sorbie Curl Cream, its okay for work days but doesn't keep the frizz at bay nearly as well, have three friends who use this product alot and am getting them to e-mail too, still haven't had a reply to my e-mail though, hopefully because they've had so many complaints!
Good news I think, my boyfriend has found 5 tubs whilst visiting his mum and its in new packaging, must be re-launced - when I say new - there's an accent on the 'e' in creme and its a slightly different font - lets hope its back x

I got a reply to my email also:
Dear Ms XXX
Thank you for contacting me about our curl cream. We are always reviewing our products to make sure we're selling those that our customers want to buy. We will only ever discontinue items to introduce a new and improved range or if the products have not sold as well as expected. I understand that we'll be an equivalent to this curl cream in the beginning of 2008. I'm sorry, but at this point I'm unable to confirm in the difference between the previous cream. Thank you again for contacting me, Ms XXX. If you have any further questions please contact me personally on the email address or telephone number below.
Kind regards,
Richard Smith
Boots Customer Care.
Hopefully the new product will be just as wonderful, if not better. But, to be on the safe side, I've stocked up!
