mixing products for traveling?

I use alagio curl balm, curl keeper and re:coil every morning.
Has anyone ever just mixed them altogether, rather than doing each one separately, especially so that you only have one bottle for traveling?
thanks

Since they're all different products, i.e., not all gels and different brands, I'd be afraid to mix them up into one bottle. I'm certainly not an expert, but I would think it would affect the way they would work for you.

I would suggest just buying the small plastic travel bottles and putting your products in separately, but do not assume you can get through security with them in your carry-on. It's always been my understanding that if you used 3-oz. plastic bottles and they all fit in a quart-size ziploc bag, it was ok to carry on, but my husband just had all of his confiscated -- security told him products had to be in their original bottles. This certainly wasn't my understanding of the rules!

Hi msgiblet: that's definitely not my understanding either, and in fact, I've been on two trips in the past month (one was an international), and both times I used a regular travel-sized 3oz bottle, not the original bottles my stuff came in. Unless the manufacturer specifically made sample-sized products, how could you use the original bottle??

What they will ding you on is if you try to use the original (regular-sized) bottle, even if it's got 3oz or less of the stuff in it. The bottle itself has to be a 3oz size, and yes, as long as it fits within a quart-sized zip top bag (and I don't even use a ziplock bag; I use a clear plastic bag with a zipper that happens to be quart-sized), it should be fine.

I think the security guard made a booboo.

A lot of companies are making the travel sizes now, but still, you could put anything you wanted in those bottles, too, so what difference does it make? I know one thing -- when I travel from now on, I will have backups in my checked luggage just in case we get another security person like the one my husband got.
