So I tried DevaCurl Low Poo

It barely lathered & took forever to rinse from my hair. Is that normal?

Is it's scent supposed to be licorice?

It doesn't lather very much. I didn't find that it took a long time to rinse, but it isn't one of my favourite products. The OneConditioner is a better product ... I won't buy the low poo again.
Type: 3a fine & dense, with normal porosity, terrible product junkie
ROUTINE: LI, enhancer, gel, plop with Curlease towel, serum product (either CIAB or Gel-les'c), clip & diffuse.
Too many favourite products to list ... I finally have my routine that works and alot of products to choose from. My product stash is huge, but well loved !!!
I didn't hate it, but I was quite puzzled by the time it took to rinse & its scent!

Did you use the curl or care line? AnnMarie uses that on me when I go in for my trim. When she uses it, it really lathers up. I'm thinking because she uses alot of it.
When I used it at home, I didn't get much lather. To rinse out.... it is heavy and it takes alot of rinsing. I never used a condish after using it.
The scent.... to me is smelled like lemons or citrusy.
I don't use it anymore tho.

I use the devacare low poo on occassion. It takes a ton of it to distribute thru my hair, and it is low latering. I find it rinses well, though.

You can say what you want about the South, but you never hear of anyone retiring and moving North.

It was the Curl-line(if you used the sample I sent you). It doesn't really lather for me & it takes a while to rinse out with our water softener. Without the water softener, it rinses easy but leaves my hair really squeeky.

I never thought licorice for the scent but... now that you mention it, it could be licorice I'm smelling. The whole line is medicinal smelling to me.

I've got a weird sniffer, that's all there is to it!

ETA: tinab, yes, it was the sample you sent me.

We don't have a water softener, quite the opposite, our water is very hard.

It didn't leave my hair squeaky though. I guess that's a good thing!
i've been using it for a couple months now, and i am realizing that it leaves quite an oily build up on my scalp. maybe i am using too much? perhaps i should use it only once a week and just co-wash on the other days? i have been using it about 3 times a week.

Low Poo feels like it leaves a film on my hair or something. It doesn't distribute well and it seems to take a long time to rinse out. And my hair feels a little straw-ish once I'm done rinsing. I'm beginning to think for me, Low Poo = a pretty guaranteed bad hair day. Yet for some darn reason, I keep trying it!
Type: Course & thick. According to everyone's input, 2c w/ 3a potential.
Color: Brown w/ highlights & annoying grays which I color.
Length: Past shoulders w/ layers.
Issues: Dryness, knots & more dryness!
Poo: Deva Lo-Poo 1 x week, Clarify 1-2 x month
CO Wash: Suave Tropical Coconut (but looking for something else b/c I suspect protein issues)
Condish: GVPCB, LVPNG
Leave-Ins: Was loving KBB Milk & Nectar, but overused them. Usually just leave-in some of what I CO with.
Styling: Biolage Gelee
I used it again today. It does get squeaky at the crown, but I don't keep rinsing past that point or it'd be squeaky throughout the hair & I don't want that.

I'm shampooing twice a week again. I can't stand using styling products & shampooing only once a week. I just feel I need to do this. WHINE

Well, I've been having the best hair day in like, forever!

But then it could have been the rinse-out conditioner I used as a leave-in; Oyin Honey Hemp. Beautiful shiny moist-looking curls that haven't fallen flat!
I really like it. I shampoo daily but don't use it every day because I feel it just doesn't get my scalp clean enough. Twice a week I use a sulfate poo because of this.

I also wish it was thicker. I feel like I have to use a palmful of it to get any amount of lather, so I go through a bottle quickly.

The best thing about it for me is that I don't have to order it online.
i was just on the devaconcepts website and they recommend only shampooing with no-poo once or twice a week. i guess i was overdoing it.

Hey lazy loops, what's the Oyin Honey Hemp? Good stuff? Does it smell very strongly of hemp?... And congrats on the great hair day! Yay!

I think it smells a mix between honey & who knows what, maybe something green. I don't know what hemp smells like alone.

I bought the remainder of the Honey Hemp Conditioner from Bailey & she probably got it from CurlMart. Not realizing it made a MUCH better leave-in, I "wasted" it & used it as a rinse-out. The label states it can be used as either. I suggest using it as a leave-in. Two thumbs up! I only wish I found this out when I got it, 3-some-odd ounces & weeks ago.

Now I can hardly wait to try the Naturelle Hemp Hydrating Conditioner I got from Sally Beauty Supply today, which does smell green, or the Nature's Gate Hemp Conditioner I got a few weeks ago from a natural/health food store, which smells spicy! Though if my luck would have it, they'll suck.
