OMG My Daughter Has Curly/Wavy Hair

I can't believe that it took me so long to notice this in my daughter's hair. I have been referring to this website faithfully. When I looked at Lorraine Massey's CG book, something caught my eye. She mentioned that some wavies often thought they had straight hair. I've always known that she had some wave, but never realized the extent of what she could have.

Looking back, I should have known better - my daughter's hair gets really dry, really easily. Today, I co-washed her hair, put SheaM Leave-in and Joiwhip mousse, scrunched with a microfibre towel and diffused until about 50% dry .... OMG, her hair is gorgeous.

She is thrilled. I'm hoping that with the new co-wash / CG routine, her hair will become healthier. What was really nice was that she was SO happy with it. She has gorgeous hair. It can easily be blown dry straight, but the waves and loose curls I got today was stunning on her. I'm hoping that it will look good tomorrow ... Her hair is almost to her waist ... I'm going to have to pineapple it tonight.

That's great! How old is your daughter? I'm glad she's learned to love her curls already.

I'm finding it challenging to figure out what products to use in her hair. It is really long - to her waist when wet. It is fine and probably 2a, with 2b potential.

When I first do her hair, it is easily 2b, but the curls fall to waves within a couple of hours.

I need to use a leave in, because her hair is really dry (hopefully this will improve with only the co-washing), but I'm not sure what products to put with it ... any ideas????

Anyone ???

I can't help you on the other tips, I'm not full CG. My son is probably a 2a, possibly 3a but it isn't very long. I keep wanting to experiment with his curls but he isn't into that. :P

Yeah, I have no clue as to treating his curls, as my type is so different (thick and curly vs thin and wavy/curly).
