Default Rubbish flat s-shapes rather than lovely spirals.. help!!

My hair, apparently randomly, has decided it no longer wants to form nice spirals instead its forming weird s-shapes which look like they've been squished sideways!! Please hlep!! Any ideas what might be causing this? I've been carrying on the same routine for a little while and even if i single out one of these annoying squiggles and twirl it around my finger it will not curl!!! My hair is a horrible squiggly frizzy mess ( grrrrrrrrrr

Maybe it's overconditioned. Leave out the Shea next time and see if it makes a difference, or try a lighter leave-in.

Maybe the change in length? some people get less curly as they get longer?

Maybe the change to colder weather? My hair will get weird flat S-shapes instead of nice spirals if I use too much product and I'm finding out that with the colder weather my hair my hair likes lighter stuff.

I second the weather. When it gets cold and dry in NC, which is not much, my curl really falls out.
