ploping variations?

ok, I finally was able to plop (after about 5 tries ), now I am curious about the diffrent variations....
I did a search and it seems to me that the standard variations are:

material:
microfiber
t shirt
dishtowel

wetness:
really wet
somewhat wet

I was wondering if there are any more variations? dry ploping? 2nd ploping? other materials? (I was thinking maybe something lighter like solarveil/solarweave for drying while ploped? anyone tried that? would the solarveil material just make more frizz?).

so how have you ploped? what worked? what didn't?
I plop every day with a t-shirt with my hair soaking wet.
Sometimes i do dry plopping overnight to achieve 2nd day hair, i guess this works best for short to medium hair (mine is shoulder length)

I could never plop the way most people do with the 2 twists on the sides. I plop similar to the way I used to turban before I learned that it was bad to have my hair twisted up in the turban. I also plop for about 20-30 min (depending on what I'm doing in the meantime and if I lose track of time) and then lately I've been replopping after I apply spray gel to make sure I get the back of my head.
I use remnant jersey/tshirt fabric from a fabric store, occasionally a t shirt, cotton gauze (summer) or if I'm in a pinch, paper towels for scrunching. I less than rarely diffuse because I get frizzies.

I don't do the "star wars" plop configuration either, just bend over, put towel on my crown and wrap around. This 20 x 40 100% cotton, non Microfiber Gilden Tree hand towel does the job well (2 for $20). It's longer than my dish towels and easier to secure. I plop wet with all the style stuff in my hair, for 5-10 minutes.

Ok SBB - where did you get those towels?? Sorry for the gauno!

I have not been plopping for the past 6 months or so. I found that my hair did weird things - parts got flat others straightened out. So I just started srunching with my tshirt after all my products had been applied - 1st upside down and then right side up. My hair is still very wet when I start. Then I diffuse - let it finish drying by air drying (I work from home so I have that luxery) then I scrunch out any crunch after it's dry with the tshirt again.

I CO-wash at night (leaving a little conditioner in my hair), add my conditioner/epsom salt spray right out of the shower, and then scrunch with a microfiber towel. Then, I use a t-shirt and plop while I sleep. I usually add gel in the morning if I need it, but I think tonight I'm going to try to add the gel at night to see if that will help the curl hold better.

I've also used plopping for second-day hair. I dampen my hair with my conditioner/epsom salt spray then plop for about half an hour. It is better than the second-day hair I get without plopping.

I love my curleaze towel (birds eye cotton) I think it is the same material as the gauzy type of baby diapers. I usually scrunch out some water and then plop for 20-30 minutes.
