Pineappling and pixiecurling

Hello everyone,
Can anyone help me with this? I am trying to figure out what pineappling and pixiecurling is and how to do it. I have tried searching the forums and cant find any info. I have even tried to google it. Thanks in advance...
Pineappling is putting your hair in a high ponytail on top of your head overnight. (you look like the top of a pineapple) it lets some people achieve second day hair.

The pixiecurl method is a diffusing method. You put the diffuser into your hair and against your scalp (so your hair is scrunched in the diffuser) then you turn the dryer on. Before moving the dryer you turn it off, move it to a different section, turn it on again etc.

I use the pixiecurl method of diffusing and love it. It has made a huge difference. When I first started diffusing, I was moving the dryer around too often .... it is hard to be patient and hold it in one spot. I keep it in one spot until it gets too hot and then I turn it off and move it.

Before the pixie method, I would move it without turning it off .... I always ended up with frizzy fly aways. By turning it off before I move the dryer, I don't get these nasty frizzy pieces.

Give it a try; you will notice a huge difference.

I wish my hair was long enough to pineapple ... a lot of curlies are able to get 2nd day hair with this method.

Good Luck with it !!
Type: 3a fine & dense, with normal porosity, terrible product junkie

Thanks for the information... just curious do I have to plop my high ponytail or pin it?
I have the same question as Jari.
Also, do u just gather all of ur hair like in a bun or just in a regular high ponytail?
B/c to me, putting it in a ponytail when it is wet would make my roots dry str8er than the rest of the hair in the ponytail...maybe it's just me...
Plopping Pixiecurl and pineapple are 3 separate things.

Pineapple is done to dry hair at the end of the day before going to bed. You loosely gather the hair at the very top of your head and put it in a ponytail. Because it sticks up and flops over your head resembles a pineapple.

Plopping is usually done to went hair. You can find an instuctional video at www.jessicurl.com she calls it plunking.

Pixiecurl is a method of drying your hair using a diffuser. You press the diffuser into your hair so the bowl is scrunching your curls, then you turn the dryer on. Before moving the dryer you turn it off. It is a lot of turning off and on and some dh get annoyed and ask if there is something wrong with your dryer. but it keeps your hair from blowing around and helps prevent frizz.

I have never had much success with pineappling but maybe my hair is just too short. I used to plop, but now have found my greatest success is drying using the pixiecurl method when my hair is still wet, right after i scrunch it with the towel.

Hope that all makes sense.
