I have never been able to figure out what to do with my curly hair the day after i wash it. When i wake up my hair has gone frizzy and knotty. Are there any products or techniques I can use to stop this from happening?
If your hair is long enough, put it up in a loose ponytail on top of your head. Then in the morning, let it down, and just spritz with a little water or leave in conditioner. Try that and see how it works. Some days are better than others.
What hair type are you?
I am type 4a. I use a deep conditioner after washing (Icy Mint) and some leave in conditioner from Jane Carter. I usually comb it and twist it while it is wet. I use some holding spray (jane carter to hold the twist down and I pin the ends. I let the hair dry naturally from there because heat is not good for my hair. You can take the twist out the next day, but the longer you keep the twists in the longer the style and shine will last.
Hope that gives you some ideas
African American with type 4a hair. I have been natural since 2005.
The day after washing, I pull my hair into a loose ponytail and stuff it into a satin bonnet. Sometimes I use a satin scarf instead. I'm one of those curlies who cannot use water or anything as a refresher the second day. It makes me frizzy. I just fluff and go and I consistently get 3rd day hair.
