Samy products ???
Every time I go into Rite Aid I look at the Samy products, but that's all I do.
Has anyone tried any of them? Which one? What was it like?

I have tried the curl gel. It really didn't do much and the back of it talks about how it's a silicone gel. So I've ditched it.
Adding this:
Get Curls Re-energizing potion
Revive, re-energize and enhance your curls! This lightweight silicone formula conditions and rejuvenates frizzy, lifeless curls from roots to the ends! Designed to maintain smooth, silky curls on wavy, naturally curly or permed hair, this special alcohol-free potion repels humidity and frizz while adding texture, hold, definition, bounce and elasticity. It gives curls vibrancy and a frizz- free shine without adding wax, residue or build-up.

I think I have medium hair with normal to high porosity. And I need all the moisture I can get!!
Currently using:
C: Curl Junkie Curl Assurance Smoothing
S: Ouidad CQ/Pureology Hydrate
LI: AG Fast Food
Stylers: AG Re:coil (super soak), then CIAB and some CHS CK on top.
**trying CCCC & Beuticurls LI
Style: scrunch and finger curl where I see the hair is not clumping well. Diffuse.

I was looking at them at Rite Aid yesterday -- about half of the products were marked 50% off. I had some other stuff in my hands, so I couldn't check ingredients on any of the products.

A few years ago in my pre-CG days I used to use this thing called "Samy Curls" in this yellow re:coil style tube but it was a goopy creme-type product. I liked it back then quite a bit, but I think it got discontinued.

First and foremost I would like to say that I love Samy. I think he's so talented, I watched him for YEARS on Latin television shows giving women make overs and the results were amazing.
With that said, I haven't tried any of the products in stores right now, but when he first started to sell products, and would be on QVC or HSN, I ordered a leave in foam that he was showing off. It was supposed to leave your hair soft and shiny and glossy. All the models had perfect hair. I tried it and it felt like I had a shampoo in my hair, the foam didn't disappear into my hair. It went from foam to soap. I tried to work with it but I had to wash it out and never used it again.
But, I have seen new products that are sulfate free that I would like to try.

It's possible. But the packaging didn't look like that and the name wasn't Big Curls. They might have changed the look and name, I was using it before they had all those other serums and whatnot for styling curly hair.

I love "Big Curls"
I'm a newbie here...and I used to really like Fructis-Soft Curl Creme (I know most ladies on this forum don't like it at all- neither do my friends!)
But I recenlty started using Samy-Big Curls and I LOVE it!! I started mixing a little LA Looks Durahold Gel with it in my palms, and applying it in sections to my 3B/C hair. And my curls look amazing!! Great hold, no stiffness and it adds a little bit of weight- which I desperately need!
But keep in mind, I have yet to venture into the world of higher-end products like Deva, Ouidad, etc...
So I have nothing else to compare it to.
PS- I recently bought a small container of JessiGirl's curl Pudding (the purple one)...but it made my hair so stringy! I didn't like it at all...

I use the Sammy Curl Creme on dry hair from time to time. If my hair is particularly poofy one day this helps to reduce volume.
I also love the Curl Re energize potion, but only if my hair is dry. I found that applying it to wet hair makes it too stiff and stringy. But if I apply it when my curls are soft (not crunchy) and dry, it takes the frizzies and I still get the look of soft curls.

Hi,
I recently purchased the Samy Big Curls Curl Cream and the Re-energizing Potion from Walgreen's it was buy one get one free.
The curl cream works pretty well I just think the bottle should be bigger. The re-energizing potion was just ok but I think I just have not found the best way to use it. Someone here mentioned using it on dry hair maybe I will try that because when I use it on wet hair it doesn't seem to do much. But overall the products are pretty decent and you can't beat the price. I'm trying to economize and stay away from expensive products plus the ones I've tried have not worked any better than the less expensive ones. If you are in the market for a cheap but decent product you should give this line a try.

I bought the Moist conditioner on sale a couple of months ago. It's OK, nothing great. It has a cone in it.
I don't think I'll buy it again.

I tried the Big Curls and the re-energizing potion this morning. I applied a little bit of Jessicurl Too Shea as a leave-in then raked through and combed through the Big Curls cream. I scrunched a lot with a curlease towel then scrunched in the Re-Energizing potion, clipped roots, and diffused.
So far, the results are great. My hair isnt completely dry yet, so I guess I'll have to wait and see.
My hair doesnt feel crunchy at all and my curls are defined all the way to the roots . I cant believe I've had these two products sitting in my graveyard for so long and havent tried them until now!

I tried the BIG CURL CREME a few weeks aga, didnt like it so much. It went on nicely but I think my allergies (sneezing) kicked in. I wonder if it works better on type 2 hair ? I gave my tube away to my friend (guy) with wavy hair and he loves it.

I love the Curl Constructor Activating Mousse by Samy, it's the only mousse I've found that works. A little bit goes a long way, if you use too much, it'll get crunchy. It holds my EXTREMELY thick hair all day and it stays soft. A lot of curlies hate it, but it works well for me. I tried the gel, and I didn't really care for it. Those are the only products from the Samy line that I've tried.
