Default Vitamins that soften hair

Hello ladies:

I'm currently transitioning. I was wondering if there were any vitamins that aided in making hair softer (i.e. the feel, but not necessarily changing the texture). I can't tell what type of hair I have yet (somewhere between 3c-4b, probably a combo of all those textures).

Anyway, there are some parts where my hair feels really soft, almost like baby hair, and other parts where it feels a little "rougher" if that makes sense. I don't care so much about whether it's tightly coiled or loosely coiled as much as I do about how soft it is.

Do you know of any vitamins that soften hair texture (meaning soften the feel)? If so, please share! Thanks!

I haven't heard of vitamins having this effect. I know sometimes that your hair reflects the condition of your internal system, so doing things like eating nutritious food, taking vitamins, and generally living a healthy lifestyle will give your hair it's best chance!

Have you tried using natural oils on your hair? Some people use coconut oil to help soften the feel of their hair. I used some a while back, and it was lovely. You only need a little bit, and I shampood it out afterwards, but it did wonderful things to my hair!

I just picked up Jane Carter's Nourish & Shine and tried a little on my dry hair and it left it super soft and shiney. I think this one's a keeper .

Isn't fish oil, flax seed oil or Omega's supposed to make your hair softer? I am not an expert but I thought those are supposed to be good for skin and hair. I take 1 fish oil pill and 2 evening primose oils a day.

I was taking fish oil pills over the summer for my heart, but I stopped because i started thinking about the thought of fish in a capsule and it got hard for me to gag them down. My pills are probably bad by now, but there's another incentive to start taking them again! I didn't know they were good for your hair
