Wen vs. CO wash

I currently am CO washing with VO5 Vanilla Mint Tea Conditioner. I am interested in what the difference is between Wen and CO wash. Is there an advantage to using Wen over using CO wash? My hair is 2A if this helps. Thanks.

in my opinion, there is no advantage. the whole wen thing seems to just be marketing on what alot of us curlies already know: most shampoos have SLS in the, those are the harsh detergents that strip your hair.

natural shampoos tend to not have SLS in them, so those are what alot of us who do still use shampoos use. also, i noticed that alcohols were the number 3 and 4 ingredients (after water and glycerine) in the wen cleansing conditioner. seems like that would make for a drying product.
I will stay with my .99 VO5 conditioner.

The advantage to me of using Wen is that I don't have to condition after. It cleans, detangles, and moisturizes in one shot. I leave on for 3 minutes or so, comb through, rinse and style.

The "alcohols" in Wen are the two ingredients below. I got the definitions from Paula Begoun's website.

cetearyl alcohol-Fatty alcohol used as an emollient, emulsifier, thickener, and carrying agent for other ingredients. Can be derived naturally, as in coconut fatty alcohol, or synthetically.

cetyl alcohol. Fatty alcohol used as an emollient, emulsifier, thickener, and carrying agent for other ingredients. Can be derived naturally, as in coconut fatty alcohol, or synthetically. It is not an irritant and is not related to sd alcohol or ethyl alcohol.

I have used Wen in the past and love it. It definitely saves on with convenience because you only have to use one product, if you want to co wash, condition/detanlge and leave in.
