Poof control

I did my whole routine last night, and then did a pineapple. Took it out this morning and did nothing to it, but it has major poof. It's shaped like a triangle and I have a meeting with my boss and four of my co-workers. I cannot have poofy hair!!

How do you control poofy hair? I smoothed it down with some water and about a dime size amount each of two of my favourite products and that got down the poof, but I don't know if that will last.

I'm wondering if there's something I can alter in my routine to wake up with flatter curls and not a pyramid.
Walking into work with wet curls would not work for me. I need them dry in the morning.

Can you buy products that can smooth down my hair into a flatter style?? Straightening is not an option, last time I took a flat iron or even chemicals to my head I got badly burnt scalp and I lost a lot of hair because of major breakage.

Maybe a cream styler would help add some weight to your hair? I know they do to mine; problem is, I don't want any weight.

Do you know any good cream stylers I can pick up today??

I've gotten the ones I have on-line and since they don't usually work for me, I'm not the best one to know where you can pick them up locally. I do know the Mop-C Curl Defining cream has been getting good reviews and you can get that at Ulta or a flagship Bed Bath & Beyond. Maybe some others will chime in here with better suggestions. I think I've also read some good reviews on Biotera Curl Cream and Nature's Therapy - you can get both of those at Sally's.
