Shellynot, your blog is awesome! The videos were very informative and cute. I should try clipping sometime because my roots are straight.

I have a question though. What does the regular Oyin Greg Juice smell like? I like the idea of Juice and Berries but I might go for the Greg Juice because it has less chemicals.

thanks, mint! i personally think that the greg juice smells like herbal tea (which i like) but i'm sure some people wouldn't like it. I thought the juice and berries was the same except for a different scent! odd. i guess i've never looked at the juice and berries ingredients.

Mods - could this thread be stickied to the top of this forum? I clipped my hair this afternoon and it didn't work well. I came back to look at this again tonight for clipping reference. It would be nice to have it stuck so it can be easily accessed if needed. Plus, there are people would would love to see it so they could figure out how to clip. I know I was lost about clipping and had to ask about it. This video helped ALOT!

Thanks

Harley

glad the video helped!

I think i remember laurabeth saying something about them never stickying anything that isn't site-related or something (the reason we have to keep bumping the Conditioner Chronicles). So you might just want to bookmark it on your computer so you don't lose it!

Your videos are great! Very informative.

I tried this the other day and it's the first time I have every gotten clips to say in my hair and NOT fall over. I got more volume, but almost too much. I think I'm going to try again, but make sure I have smaller loops.

thanks for posting those!

Thanks for the videos. Your hair looks great and you are adorable! I was so happy to see this because when I went for my last cut my stylist showed me how to do the clipping, but I couldn't quite get the hang of it when I tried it at home. I'm now able to do it as shown on your video, and my hair came out looking great.

I am just dying to try this method! Oh, the experimentation...this plus my search for what caused these happy spirals - if after a week or so, I suddenly stop posting, my roommates may have killed me.

Thanks so much for the videos, I watched them all! Can't wait to try the clipping tomorrow. (I can't get over how much you look like me when I was younger!)

Yes, I would like to second hauptaj's comments. The clipping method you show in your video works totally for me and I'm so grateful! I was really struggling with how to clip to give my hair some volume and this method absolutely accomplishes that. Been doing it for a week now and have had success every day (even when the rest of my hair looks like crap). Thank you so much!

Thanks for the videos! The clipping worked a little for me, but the best was actually the tips on drying. I tried not plopping, diffusing down the hair shaft and it worked well! It pulled out some of the curl, so it was more wavy. That is totally worth it to me however for the NO frizz factor! I have always dried upside down (that's what my curly friend said to do), but this way produces less frizz. Thanks!

Oh, I forgot to say that I do this now, too, thanks to the video. I never imagined that I could get away with it, because I've always assumed the upside-down diffusing bit was necessary for volume. Turns out that it's really not!

USCRN and jillipoo--glad you are having good results with blowing down. I know i have sooo much less frizz this way! Also, my roots get much dryer blowing down than upside down. Plus i don't have to make all the blood rush to my head.

Yay for finding things that work!

I had such luck with your clipping method! I've been trying to get the hang of it for the past week or so and finally got it to work for me today. I diffused upside down but didn't blow-dry upwards if that makes sense. I just moved the dryer around and pointed it downwards. I think that helped since my hair is really heavy when wet. Once it was partially dry I clipped it up, used the blow dryer on it a few minutes, and then air dried. When I took them out there were some weird angles but they shook out wonderfully.

I tried both the long duckbill clips and the short ones and discovered the short ones worked much better.

Thanks so much for sharing Shellynot! My waves and the newfound volume at my roots thank you!!

Excited for you that it worked!!! My roots always look a little bit wonky right after removing the clips too, by the way!

Shellynot, thanks to your awesome method, I have been able to pack up my flat iron once and for all! I have totally been struggling w/ my bangs, and would always just straighten them, even though I wasn't loving that look in the least. Now with this clipping method I have no more bang issues, they curl just right when clipped and blend in great w/ the rest of my hair!!
