Default Volume

I'm having trouble getting volume at the crown (or anywhere). Since using the co-only regimen my hair is super soft and clean, but now it seems weighed down at the crown. I tried clipping, but it didn't work for me, since my hair is curliest at the crown, it didn't seem to make much difference. I have my hair in long layers - perhaps I need to shorten up the layers? I am currently using JessiCurls and Tigi Curls Rock products.

BTW, I have always had great results with straightening the curls at the crown with a curling iron to create volume. But I'm trying to get away from hair torture devices.

Diffusing upside down and plopping for a little while gives me much better volume.

Thanks ladies! I held the bowl right to my scalp while my head was upside down, and I do think it helped!

I wash my hair in the sink so my hair is hanging down the whole time too. I'm upside down until my hair is semi dry so I can start air drying.

YOu want volume try that labella lots of curls gel.

Gooey gels seem to let me take my fingers and pick up the top of my hair at the roots and diffuse until it stiffens then air dry for some volume

I'll take real curly over volume though

If it smells good put it in your hair, if it tastes good spit it out!

Good heavens, how do you get anything else done until it dries? Heheh

Maybe you're over conditioned? I used to drench my hair in heavy conditioner to make it uber soft, but it got weighed down. Now i use less, (sometimes I skip conditioner when I cowash)
