When you know you shouldn't....but can't stop yourself

I know we all have to have these little demons that come out every now and then Here is mine...

Hairspray, is like hair crack for me. Hmmm that looks like it needs just a teeny bit of keeping in place - I'll just reach up here and grab the hairspray and 'spritz' - ah perfect...ooo there's a spot 'spritz'...ok just one more for this spot 'spritz'....well I'll just spray all around really quick and I'll be 'spritz, spritz, spritz, spritz, spritz, spritz, spritz....OMG I CANNOT STOP MYSELF! Then I am full of regret that my hair is a sticky, nasty feeling, coated mess with ill defined curls and no bounce. I'll never do it again I promise...until one day a month later, 'spritz'

I'm the same way with gel. I'm usually too heavy-handed. I think "just a tiny bit more just in case" and then I end up with too much and tell myself to take it easy next time and then I do the $@#! same thing again!

If I'm Going To Have A Bad Hair Day, It Might As Well Be In Aruba!

mine is cutting my own hair ... I see a little bit that looks out of place so I get the comb and compare it to the surrounding hair and sure enough it's an inch longer than the hair next to it ... so SNIP SNIP! .... I feel orgasmically happy when I'm cutting my hair so that it's even with the hair next to it. especially if I need to cut an inch or more. not sure why. but while I'm at it I might as well check the rest and pretty soon I am giving myself an all-out haircut in my bathroom, and then making adjustments the next day too. I can't stop!! but it is so fun! I actually gave my haircutting scissors to my boyfriend this morning and asked him to hide them from me. I am so addicted.
oh well, at least my haircut looks decent. I like the shape of it a lot better than it was before. but I cut a whole inch and a half in some places so it will take at least 3 months to recover the length.
Pineappleing. It always gives my hair waaay too much volume, but I'm convinced that if I try it one more time, it'll work. It doesn't.

Cones. I have to have a a cone or two in my products. It just works.

Cutting off all of my hair. I've been really good for a long time, so I might have over come it, but just in case, I hide all scissors. I cut only my bangs a month ago, so I'm making progress.

Touching my hair when it is wet!! I know this is bad, bad, bad! But I can't help it, I love the way it feels and am always amazed at the clumpy goodness. Then it dries, and I am bummed about my frizz factor some days, and curse myself for not keeping my hands off of it.

I am also a bit of a hairspray junkie too!

Boinging my curls. I can't not. I do it absent-mindedly when I'm thinking. Same with giving a handful of them just a little squeeze and feeling them bounce back.

Maybe if I could keep my hands out of it I could get 2nd day hair, but eh. Finally I like my hair, and I want to enjoy it.

msgiblet and jlpmom23 hit the nail on the head!

Right now I'm trying to learn to not use so much product. It's so hard though because I constantly worry that it'll end up huge and poofy!

And I'm so perfectionist, that I'm always looking, picking at, and moving around curls as they dry. I know I shouldn't, but I do anyways. That and I just enjoy feeling how soft it's been lately! I've taken to telling people who try to touch my hair "Sorry, I know it's tempting...even I have trouble not touching my own hair!!"

Boy, it really depends on the gel (and the weather, and the position of the stars, and what kind of mischief Britney Spears has gotten into).

Too many favourite products to list ... I finally have my routine that works and alot of products to choose from. My product stash is huge, but well loved !!!
I, too, have a problem waiting until my hair is completely dry to touch it. It seems like it takes so long to dry, and I always want to hurry and scrunch out the crunch.

For me it's doing things upside down. It's never worked for me and I dare say never will, but every now and then.....

I just keep hennaing! Aaaahhhh!

I know I won't stop until I've gone one too many.
Spraying with water. My hair goes through a few stages from wet to dry, wet looks ok, damp looks stringy and horrible - this is when I try to fix it, knowing that it will look ok when it's dry, but it never stops me, I always think it looks a little dry or too producty, so out comes the water....

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names and each is a different color. But they all have to learn how to live in the same box. ~Anonymous

Hahaha! It's leaves of a plant that are dried and ground up. You mix them with water and they dye your hair RED. Permanently. And redder, and redder...

It's good for hair, though. There's a whole site about it here.
I can't keep my hands out of my hair once it's dry. I obsessively fondle, fluff, move pieces around, etc. until it's a mess. Scrunching is my favorite part because then it's okay to touch. I know it looks so much better when I leave it alone, but I can't. stop. touching. it.

I also like hair spray.
