hey guys..how r yall? im new here but ive been a silent member for quite a few months..anyways i was just watching t.v yesterday and this paid advertisement commercial came on..it was about this new WEN cleanser product....they said that we all need to stop using shampoo cuz its strips the natural oils out of our hair n gives us breakage n dry damaged hair(we all know that)...so they want everyone to try the wen cleanser conditioner...its one product that takes the place of conditioner, leave in,shampoo, detangler, deep conditioner and etc..so all u have to use is the wen cleanser in the shower (it doesnt lather like shampoos) it leaves ur hair soft, shiny,n bouncy......the best part is that its for all hair types such as curly, straight, wavy, asian hair, ethnic, blonde, thick, thin n etc....the reviews on it were good..so i was wondering if any of yall tried it? if so, did u see any changes in ur hair? im thinking bout giving it a try!!! heres the link to their site where u can find info on it..
I said it before, I'll say it again. This informercial promotes the strange and mysterious idea of conditioner-washing. I agree with most of the tenets of conditioner-washing. It has worked well for me. My problem with this infomercial is that no one seems to realize that they are conditioner-washing. And the concept has been around longer than this product. And can be accomplished with cheapo conditioner.
If you want to conditioner-wash, you can do it using $1 or $2 or $3 conditioner. If Chaz Dean wanted to help people and not make money, he would just say that. He is selling $30 conditioner, not a hair revolution. It might be the best conditioner in the world, but I'll never order it from him, so I'll never know.
I've used the Wen conditioner wash and I did like some of the flavors (I bought a sample set of various scents from QVC) but I agree with others that it is basically just conditioner washing. He does include astringent type ingredients that are supposed to help with scalp cleansing and they do include the a-cone. My objection is that his other products contain ingredients that might be difficult to remove with just conditioner washes so I just don't quite get it....
My other objection is that he suggest using huge amounts of his product to wash with which would get very pricey and just isn't necessary.
I'm easily lured by advertisments. I love imfomercials, but would never really buy from them. Except the magic bullet! A personal, versitile blending machine!
Ahem. I fell asleep before I found out the price and now? I don't want it. Seriously. I use dollar conditioners. Once, I was about to buy my V05, but I noticed that it was $1.09, and I didn't buy it. And they're expecting me to buy this forty dollar condish. Yeah. Right.
I have a question about that. What the F is that thing that looks like a giant chapstick? LOL
It's some sort of hair balm. When Gretchen did the TV thing, that was one of the products she wore, and I think she loves it. You can check out her review of it on CurlProducts.
Really? That makes sense, but I always thought those wax type of things were like razoring, in that they are great for straights and not so good for curlies. I have a straightish friend who swears by Jonathan 'Dirt' (even though I looked up the ingredients and told her she could probably get the same result from Burt Bees Lip Balm for 1/10th the price).
I don't wanna diss anyone who bought this. I think it is conditioner. It wouldn't be the first time any of us spent a load on conditioner, and I have always said that it may be really really good conditioner, I just don't have experience with it to tell. So if you have the bucks to drop and you like it, more power.
My problem is more with the attempt to perpetuate the concept that conditioner-washing is Chaz Dean's new idea, or that this isn't conditioner.
I have used WEN and the cheap drugstore conditioners and I can tell you that WEN, Deva and Jessicurl are definitely way way much better than the cheap VO5 and Suave stuff. Suave and VO5 work alright in a pinch but I have always gotten serious buildup from these cheap stuff.
I have gotten some build up from the "expensive" stuff but never to the degree as with the "cheap" stuff. Also, a big point for me is that I have super knotty and tangly hair and WEN, DEVA and Jessicurl always get rid of my knots with ease I don't have to rip out my knots which is what I always end up doing whenever I use Suave and VO5.
