Buildup from shea butter?

I've been feeling something like a wax on my hair after using the Shea Moisture Leave-in or Cantu After-shampoo Rinse-out Conditioner when I go to rinse that night or the next morning to apply something else. I can't get my hair wet & have to shampoo the stuff out. When my hair is dry with it in, there's no waxy feel. It's just soft.

Yeah, I said I didn't like the Cantu because of how it was making my hair feel, but you can't blame a gal for wanting it to work & continuing to use it.

Anyhow, I highly doubt it's the cyclomethicone in the conditioner. I use TIGI Curls Rock Curl Amplifier, which contains the cone, and Sunsilk Summer Collection Conditioner, which contains cyclopentasiloxane, & neither of these items make my hair feel the way the Cantu & SM do.

Am I alone in my problems, or is there anyone else out there who experiences the same with shea butter?
I havent used those products but I have used shea butter and it build up in my hair. I have two different kinds East and West the east is not hard and it is the worst. It even feels waxy in the tub I can use it about one time on my length and its ok, but any more and its terrible.
I put pure unrefined shea butter in my hair sometimes when it's frizzy and it does feel waxy but I have no trouble washing it out with conditioner the next day ... so I am somewhat skeptical ... I wonder what are the other ingredients?
The first few times I used SheaM, my hair felt like it was coated ... waxy is a good way to describe it. I had used too much though. If I don't use too much, I haven't had a problem. Having said that, however, I rotate all my products so I don't use SheaM more than twice a week at most.
Type: 3a fine & dense, with normal porosity, terrible product junkie
ROUTINE: LI, enhancer, gel, plop with Curlease towel, serum product (either CIAB or Gel-les'c), clip & diffuse.
Too many favourite products to list ... I finally have my routine that works and alot of products to choose from. My product stash is huge, but well loved !!!
