OK i did it.. i went to see my hairdresser today and took my mom with me for some mental support, as i was really really nervous.
It was kind of an impulse, but the blonde parts wich i was still growing out, really annoyed me and i just wanted to get rid of them.
Even though i told myself not to cut my hair till december, i couldnt stand the dryness and uglyness of the blonde anymore.
So today in some kind of weird mood i asked the curlygods to help me go through this.
And they DID!!
My hair looks absolutely fabulous!! (havent got any pics, im sorry, but trust me )
He made sure not to cut off any length, just a tini tiny trim on the ends.
The layers are a little shorter now, but i dont mind, it looks great!
And it feels soooo soft now that this ugly part of hair has dissapeared!
My hairdresser was really impressed with the way my hair looked and felt (shine and softness), once he cut off the damaged blonde.
He asked me what i was doing to it, so i started to explain the CG method, and i think i lost him when i told him i stopped using shampoo LOL
He went into mental shock i think LOL
I just wanted to share that i took the plunge and did cut off a piece, but now want to save as much length as possible, hopefully i get to reach BS-length or maybe even waistlength!
So im still dancing LOL

bumping for rudeechick!
I thought it was time for everyone to update anyway.
It's been almost 6 months since I started this thread. Although my hair is not back to the original length, it is much longer and in fairly good shape. I think I'm going to make an appt with a different deva/curly stylist for a trim and shape up. My face-framing layers are framing my collarbone!
How's everyone else growing? Reports on good trims, length, anything?

Here's a pic of the back, wearing a Flexi8 barrette. It does seem to have grown quite a bit, but it's still not the length it was. But I can live with this now.

Ohhhh I missed this thread originally! I've been growing out a great-when-straight/crappy-when-curly cut since March. I'm planning on scheduling a cut in December. I think by then I will be at or near BSL. *fingers crossed whiledoin' a little dance*

I had a cut in August which was really needed. My sides now are not a totally different length then the rest of my hair - they are blended in so nicely. I had posted a photo recently but here it is again - this was taken mid-Sept. I am thinking I might have another trim before the year is done....but not sure yet.

Thanks X! It has grown a lot, but it's still several inches shorter than it was. But I like this length too.
I think I did see your haircut thread and your hair is looking terrific! It has really grown and this last cut really shows off the curls.

tulipan - I know what you mean by not wanting to cut even an inch, as our hair shrinks up much more with the curl and we seem to lose so much more. As long as your hair is in good shape, you should be fine. I try to get a trim every 6 months, just to shape and trim the ends.

You must have holly hairdresser! I'm afraid, because as I learnt from my sister example - cutting ends mean cutting half of hair length for some super-stylists
I will be patient. It's only 7 months

No, I had a very bad one awhile back, that's why I started this thread! But I was seeing a deva-trained stylist before, she did cut more than 1/2 inch, probably at least 1 inch, but it was OK since it was only every 6-7 months. But I'd rather get less trimmed next time because I'm still not back to the same length. I'm going to try someone new, soon.

Yes, this thread was started one year ago. But it's here for anyone that needs it, anytime.
I should have bumped this up in January for myself, but my hair is growing out after another too-short chop.
So I'm bumping up for lazy loops, so her hair grows quickly!
Grow Hair, Grow!
Anyone else need the growing vibes?
