The Official "Growing Out Our Hair" Dancers' thread

Just being silly! I thought we'd start a new support group for those of us that got bad or short cuts that we are now trying to grow out. Based on xcptnl's idea:

I'll start!

Let's all join in, and we can keep each other posted on our progress.

I want to play ...

I lost about eight inches a couple of months ago and I'm working on getting that back. I'm lucky my hair grows fast, so I hope it won't take too long. My new boss re-cut it today to blend the layers (after watching the Deva cut I gave CGF on Saturday) and did a beautiful job, so the process will thankfully be less painful than I thought.

Can I play too??? After getting a horrendous haircut and now finding out I am protein sensitive...I just wanna grow it all out! I am not going near a salon, and I wanna learn the growing out the hair dance please!
And now I am officially joining the dance. I don't know why I keep making the mistake of getting my hair cut when I know I'm never happy with the way it looks afterward. Grow, hair, grow.
Yay! I wanna play too! I cut my hair back in September 07. I had underestimated the amount that I cut before got about 9-10 inches cut from about 26-27 to about 17 when dry. I'm at 23&1/2 when dry. I am trying to grow it to waist, maybe a bit below. I think waist is about 30in on me. I might wanna go to 32-33. So I don't wanna trim at all only S&D's to keep splits at bay so I can gain as much length as quickly as possible.

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.
I want to grow my hair out to my waist. Right now, it's barely BSL. I got a long way to go, but lots of support, and fast-growing hair. And friends who will stop me chopping it all off.

I'm joining the club too! I want to grow my hair out because when I got it cut last time, I got it thinned a little too. I think it was mainly in the back though. I know that thinning is bad for me now that i've found this site. It's so tempting sometimes though because I have SO much hair, it feels overwhelming! But I'm tired of the dry-looking ends I tend to get, so I know my hair will look better in the end, even if I do have more of it. =/

Boy, it really depends on the gel (and the weather, and the position of the stars, and what kind of mischief Britney Spears has gotten into).

I'm in too.l I cut off a good 3-4 inches over the course of the winter trying to get rid of pregnancy hair and while I have my curl back it is much too short to deal with the thickness. If I could only find someone that knows how to cut it properly without travelling to Chicago, NY or Toronto I would be thrilled. People w/straight hair (and my husband) just don't get the big deal: heck, anyone can cut hair correctly, right?! NO. If "anyone" could I wouldn't look like this now would I?

Here I am!!!!

I want to try the hair vitamins again but the last time I took them (not sure if it was a coincidence or not but I started breaking out but I was also doing other stuff to my skin too). Once I get my skin under control I will try them again and then I will know if it's them or not. I had used them about a year ago and I dont recall breaking out but you know how your body changes....damn body.

It has taken 4 weeks for me to even have a couple of good hair days and like my other thread said - I have been using hairspray wayyy too much to make sure it stays good when I have one!

definitely get me in on this dance!
As soon as I get my color done next week, I'm going to finally post pics of my own hair (so y'all will quit PMing me and nagging me to death about it ). But you for sure don't need to see the 1/2" of regrowth with some lovely, shiny grays I've got going on right now

Have a beautiful day ... and may your lovely locks grow an inch today!

I'm playing since my Deva stylist is trying to achieve i believe a one length all over before giving me a proper deva cut. My hair is heavy and went from BSL to just below my shoulders except for my bangs. They reach my chin when blowed dry but now that i leave them curly, they reach just below my eyes. Not happy at all as my hair still looks the same but shorter! Growing it out to BSL again.
I'm growing out! My hair grows fast. About three-fourths of an inch a month. Right now the longest bits are BSL when pulled straight, but curly they're much shorter than that. In a year it should be...*does math* about nine inches longer. Hey, I can live with that

*joins dance*
Proudly CG since 8/10/06 - the story of my hair!
Type: 3a/b, very thick
Length: almost BSL wet
Products: Suave coconut conditioner, coconut oil, Totally Twisted gel

Don't forget to be awesome!
Yay! With all of us dancing and sending around the growing vibes, it's GOT to work!

I'm (still) growing out too! If you can believe this, in less than one week it will be my 4 year anniversary of a pixie cut I got and immediately hated. (I did stall for a while, keeping it around shoulder length for about a year or so.) I'm at BSL now and still growing!! I'm trying to get to waist/hip length, because why not? I've had super-short hair, and now I want to try super-long hair!
