That's what I had thought originally as well. Luckily I have a friend who had it at her house and I was able to try it before I bought it.

And no problem! I guess I am lucky that my hair likes cheaper products and I don't have to shell out a ton of money for more expensive ones (but it sure has cost a lot to find this out, buying and experimenting with what seems like a million and one products!)

LOL I can only imagine...funny what we will do on a quest for the perfect curls! I am way up in MI and am trying to convince my SO that we need to go to FL so that I can get a trim from StruttsWife! I swear I need help!

I did exactly that yesterday and it gave me great 2nd day hair. I get very "piecy" curls that have a shiny look. If you touch them, they can be a bit cruncy in places, but look terrific. I also will do the same in the evening if I'm going out but need a touch-up.

They are both drugstore products.
Alas, I went looking for LOOB about a month ago and couldn't find it anywhere in any of the stores. I wonder if they don't sell it in Canada.

Need_hair_repair,

Great idea! Having a trim by Struttswife. I have had thoughts of going to FL too.

Ondulato,

Oh, so the HE SMU Spray Gel is good too....I may get some tonight at Rite Aid.

For me, I found that the SMU spray gel was not good, it left my hair a dry crunchy mess...which is why if I wanted to get 2nd day hair (or try anyway), I mixed some of the SMU regular gel in a bottle of water and sprayed that liberally all over my hair, then scrunched it and diffused dry. The spray gel just seemed to have more drying ingredients for me. But what works for one person doesn't work for another!

As for LOOB, I am not sure they sell that in Canada, you may have to order it online. Sorry

Oh it's no problem at all! I was so confused when I first joined and everyone was using acronyms, I still sometimes dream about them! Welcome to the boards

I have thick 2c to 3a hair and it had no hold at all (too my liking). My hair expanded and frizzed :T It is just my hair though.
