I've been co-washing with this Suave tangerine stuff. It smells great but I was wondering if you needed the cocoa whatever stuff to make co-washing effective or not?

Thanx

Medium texture
Average porosity

Crazy-picky hair; likes some oils and proteins, but not others, can tolerate some glycerin.

Current products-
Co-wash: Suave/Vo5/TJ Refresh
Rinse out & Leave in: Suave Tropical Coconut/Garnier Triple Nutrition
Gel: Herbal Essences Set Me Up/Aussie Tizz No Frizz
Conditioners have mild surfactants in them, so unless you've been using cones that co-washing won't remove, you should be ok with just co-washing. This still doesn't work for some, so you'll have to experiment and see if you have to use coco.....betaine.

I noticed today that DH's Suave mousse has this coco-whatever-betaine in it.... hhmph... does that mean he can mousse his hair to get rid of buildup? LOL
