my hair is bored with me.

ok first, sorry if there is already a thread addressing this topic, but i simply CAN'T sit on this computer reading through posts anymore...i'm sure you've all been there!!

so, i'm getting sick of ALWAYS wearing my hair down!! i really can't think of any other hairstyles i wear besides that, it's always either down or in a low ponytail for work. i will admit i am a bit (ok, maybe more than just a bit!) of a perfectionist and can't stand when i put my hair up and it isn't "just right". it's easier to look past imperfections when my hair is down because i'm ok with it...i like it a little wild. but, i think i need some advice on some other styles. can anyone here please help in my search for some new hairstyles to try? my hair is begging for some variety!!
if your hair is shorter..i would imagine it harder to find a different style, but you could probally go to a hairstylist and they would find a hairstyle that you could do at home..or you could search the internet for styles for you hair type. hope i helped :]
oops! i guess my picture is a little deceiving...my hair isn't that short anymore, it's about shoulder-length when dry (and curly).

.....although i think i might have to get the big chop and go back to that length. it ends up looking healthier, it's easier to style-and-go and with all these new CG techniques i've learned in the past few months, i would kinda like to see how it looks at a shorter length, even though i always end up thinking i look like a little boy with my hair so short...
Curlywhirl, if you don't go for the big chop, you might find some fun ideas in the book "Strictly Curls."

thanks for the responses (and compliments! ) ladies! i'll definitely have to check out the "strictly curls" book!!
Hi, Curlywhirl:

I see that you use the Aubrey Organics products, and I'm curious to know how you like the leave-in and styling jelly. Have you tried the AO gel too? I use the GPB conditioner regularly and love it, so I was thinking about trying some of their other products. Thanks!
Loose botticelli curls and waves
No silicones/no sulfates since March 2008
LoloDSM:
i do like the mandarin jelly...so far. i usually scrunch it into my hair first thing and i think it does give my hair some extra moisture.

as for the leave-in, i'm not too crazy about it. my regimen has been to use the jelly, then a 50/50 mixture of hr co and honey. i then plop (about 30 min.) and spray the leave-in after plopping. i feel like the leave-in is a little too oily and it doesn't do a damn thing for frizz. i also don't think that it brings out more curl either, as it does claim to be a "curl-activator". but that's just my hair!!

i just started the whole CG thing about a month ago so i am in the very beginning stages of experimentation. i also am trying to keep my hair products all-natural, so it is an added difficulty. if you're looking for the same type of products, i posted in the product review section titled "are 'all-natural' curls possible?" and i believe there are a few replies already regarding all-natural products. the girls here are so quick to respond to questions, i love it!!
