Hate to say it but...

I used just CK this morning, over their leave-in and I've got the most beautiful hair in the whole world!!! Don't know why it's taken me so long to realize what works and doesn't. I've tried everything suggested and by trial and error..........voila..........my thick head finally came to a realization that CK does it everytime. I recently tried Deva and am not unhappy with it. Will definately use it again, but for my guaranteed good hair...........I'll definately have to stick to CK!!! (This is me talking to myself to realize CK does it for me).

And no..........I'm not being paid by JT

CK was the only styler that made me finally like the curly hair!! I have never had consistant hair before! I cleaned out more creams. gels & mousse than any one person should own!

I use Ck all by itself over a leave in, got to love itm soft frizz free curls and waves!

Now don't you make my PJ jones for this stuff! I already have too much other stuff. LOL
That's right, I said it! I wear scrunchies!!

I am a sulfate washing, cone slabbing, curly lovin' s.o.b. The CG police haven't caught me yet.

ARGH!!! Don't tempt me! I've been doing so well lately! I haven't bought a product in a few weeks!

I think this is the only product I want to try right now though. Man...just when I thought I had my PJ under control...

Boy, it really depends on the gel (and the weather, and the position of the stars, and what kind of mischief Britney Spears has gotten into).

I used Curl Keeper today and put a gel on top because it was super rainy here. I think I understand how to use this stuff now. For me, it has to be either extremely rainy and/or humid outside for this stuff to work. Without the humidity it doesn't do much, if anything that I can tell anyhow. Today is the first time this season I've been happy with my hair on a rainy day. This stuff is good, but it sounds like it works differently for each person. I know Notty can use it practically every day, winter or humid temps.
3B: very thick, fine, easily weighed down by products

Current styling products:
Biolage Gelee or BRHG on top of
KCKT as a leave in or CK when humid
or just Joiwhip alone for moderate weather conditions

Wow, I'm kind of surprised to see someone with coarse hair who can handle all of that protein. I'm glad that it works for you though.

Is this the Silk Leave-In? Does the mineral oil in it bother you?

There are exceptions, but StruttsWife posted a thread about how, in general, fine hair needs more protein than coarse hair. I think that coarse hair naturally contains more protein, and that is part of what makes the strand so thick.

Notty, I'm so glad that you found out what works for your hair! I'm going to have to give this "CK" a try. I've found great products that work almost every time, but I'm always looking for something better!

I have 3c hair that I haven't straightened in over 5 years. It's just past shoulder length when dry, and almost waist length when pulled straight.

Notty, what leave-in do you use?

Just wonderin'.

ETA: Duh, nevermind. You said it right in the OP.

I was able to use a little CK today (after leave-in and before Re:coil), but there is no way I could ever use it on its own.

If I use too much or if I use it too often, it makes me itchy ... glycerin is something that I have a love hate relationship with ... love the frizz free curls ... hate the itching that comes with it if I overdo it.

After hearing you all rave about CK I have bitten the bullet and ordered some to be shipped over to the UK despite the shipping cost being over $30 (gulp).

Why, oh why, can't I use CK? For those of you it works for, it seems to be the holy grail product. You all are so lucky! I don't have good luck with this stuff. And it's rarely humid where I live, so I can't even test out that particular circumstance.

Very sad.

The rest of my hair was great. But I won't use it again.

If anyone's interested, I have it on the swap board with a bunch of other stuff.

Does anyone know how CK works under Deva's ArcAngell?
(Or any other gels for that matter?)
