Is this product CG-friendly?
Did a cowash (with my regular conditioner) today after using a new styling cream*, and it feels like there is some kind of cone-ish(as if my hair has a plastic film on it) build up in my hair. I dont think it is the proteins(?). Could it be any of the other ingredients? If thats the case, how can i get it out of my hair..?
*ingredients: Water, Propylene glycol, PVP, Isopropyl palmitate, Polyquaternium-37, Propylene glycol dicaprylate/Dicaprate, PPG-1 Trideceth-6, Hydrolyzed wheat protein PG-propyl silanetriol, Isopropyl myristate, Parfum, Benzophenone-4, DMDM Hydantoin, Methylparaben, Alpha-isomethyl ionone, Butylphenyl methylpropional, Citronellol, Geraniol, Hexyl cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool

I am not familiar with those ingredients so sorry I can't help there...
I would first see if the coated feeling goes away with your next co-wash. sometimes I get this coated feeling and it washes out in a few days with the normal routine.
If I have buildup that I can't get out with conditioner, I use Dr. Bronner's castile soap. This doesn't have the harsh chemicals that shampoo has, so it doesn't irritate my skin (which is why I don't use shampoo) and it isn't as drying as shampoo if you dilute it, but using it full-strength is not good because that would dry out hair a lot. What I do is dilute a teaspoon of it in a bowl of water and pour that over my hair, then lather up, and repeat one or two more times until hair feels clean. Then follow up with vinegar rinses (about a tablespoon in a 2-3 cups of water) because Dr. Bronner's is very alkaline and you will need to close your hair cuticles after using it. Anyway that is what works for me - it leaves my hair soft and clean without drying it out.

It looks like this: PG-propyl silanetriol may be your suspect. When I googled it, it was lumped in with other cones. I don't know as you could actually call it a cone, but my suspicion is it acts just like one if it isn't.

Products
This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.
No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.

Thanks!
The product is Define professional styling cream and its from norway.
I Googled Hydrolyzed wheat protein PG-propyl silanetriol, and it is supposed to be water soluble(when pH is above 5.5), so i will wait and see if i can get rid of it without shampoo, and maybe do a baking soda rinse.

Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)
I've been worried about the use of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) in hair products since I noticed that one of my purses is made from it. I did a google search, and found that PVP is a plastic (check out the word vinyl) that can be either soluable or insoluable in water. This too might be causing build-up if your hair product cantains the insoluable polymer.

PVP is one of the ingredients that the Curly Girl book says to look for in a gel. It's a great polymer.
(Of course, Curly Girl also says to avoid 'cones but then puts them in Deva products, so go figure.)

Those ingredients are all CG friendly, Pippi. I don't see any silicones or sulfates listed.
