Well here are a few pics of my curly journey!

I was a curlie in denial and straightened everyday for over 10 years...

Then I started to wonder what my natural curls looked like. So I stopped straightening, but this is what I looked like...

not really much curl there.

So here I am after CG!

You know, I haven't posted in this thread because for one, I wasn't if I considered myself cg (still not sure), because I don't co-wash. I use all-natural products, including shampoo (no detergents of any kind in them) and no silicones in anything.
Also, I kind of felt that there wasn't that much of a difference showing yet, but actually looking at the old photos, there is, isn't there?

Here's my hair last December. That was actually a good hair day for me, but it was very undefined. And I'm with my boyfriend's little sister, a fellow curly!

Here's my hair today!

Sorry about the cheesy pic of my and my cat, but it does a good job of showing how crazy my hair got.

Pre CG

And Post CG, about 3 months in. (A little dark, sorry)

I have been watching this thread grow larger and larger and have been totally amazed by all the transformations. I did not think I had a good 'curly' hair day until today! I took a couple of pics to give an idea. My hair is loving my new routine! I apologize in advance for the pics being so big.

Before CG: (thought it was a GREAT hair day)

After CG: (about 1.5 months)

Default Best decision ever

I wasnt sure it would work but now i love my hair. You can go through some rough times during cg but if you stick them out youll have really nice hair. Ive cut mine alot i dont know why lol, but i think its helped some to get rid of the the "old" hair. my hair grows faster than it ever had when straightened. I just love my hair now

And its only been FOUR months cant wait till a year!

Before: (heat damaged & cones gallore)

After: (pardon the 2nd day hair)

Another: (still Wet)

Another post modified CG.

(I was practicing bandaging for a class. Henry was not impressed with me.)

These post pics of cg are great! What do you guys use as far as a deep conditioner/treatment? Do you even feel is necessary to have a dt/dc? Do you use a hair dryer for the dc/dt? Do you feel is necessary to use shampoo bars exc. Thanks

I have been dealing with this mass of curly hair for years. I even thought I had it down. Silly me. Looking back, its clear: I have one good hair day picture: Thanksgiving Day in 2005 I think:

My worst hair day was in February of 2008. I was "trying" the natural look. I figured if I let it go natural a couple of days, maybe it will look good. Not so much. So much damage had already been done. Not to mention the sls I dumped all over my head everyday:

Then I finally got smart (after finding this site of course!) and now I have pretty curls! I have a routine that is simpler than ever before, and you can actually TOUCH my hair! Touchable AND shiny curls! Who would have thunk it?! I am so thankful to everyone and their great curls and informative signatures. I wouldn't have known where to start!

Now:
