It was after reading this post and seeing all of the transformations that finally convinced me to try CG. I am almost floored by the results. I have never been satisfied with my hair and I've never been able to tame it like I wanted.
The first picture is a few days before going CG, I wasn't really using any good styling products, I had completely given up on them. My hair had been thinned out quite a lot because it was a huge poof and very thick, so it was really damaged. I also had a lot of buildup pulling down the curls. I also had highlights which dried my hair out too. My hair was extremely dry and damaged, I just didn't know what to do. Then I stumbled upon this website, desperate for help.
Right before I went CG I dyed my hair closer to my natural color.
The second picture is my best hair day since I've been on CG. It doesn't normally look this good and it's not that shiny (I used a flash). You can definitely tell that I've got my curl back! And I've never had good clumping like this! This was actually taken at the end of the day after I had scrunched and played around with my hair a little, it actually looked better after I messed it up a bit! I guess I needed to SOTC and give it some body!
These two pictures don't even look like the same head of hair!

lol, if I just leave my hair alone, don't put any product in it and let it dry? it totally looks like your first pic. lol, it's amazing what just introducing products and routines into your day to day life can do for your hair, above and beyond how great CG is for it
So happy to see your pretty curls coming through! And the color looks fantastic

I don't have a before picture with me right now. Here is a picture taken July 2008 when I went to meet up with some friends from High School. I hadn't seen them in 19 years. They both made a comment about my hair right away. Sorry the picture is so big...I worked on resizing it for a while then gave up. I follow a modified CG routine.

Alright ladies, you've inspired me to go CG. I haven't used sulfates or 'cones for a few months, but I've been using a cleansing conditioner/low poo. Tonight I bite the bullet and go full-on CG. I can only hope that my hair starts to look as great as all of yours!

wow you all are so beautiful!! my hair had many phases of pre-cg but this was fairly typical of recent years (nope not my baby). the second is a good hair day last summer. the other is a composite i show to stylists as an example of what my hair can do if provoked....

Type 4a CG results
Before CG: notice, straight pieces in the front & idk if you can tell but my hair had hardly any movement. in the 2d Before CG pic i had cut a lot of proucts out of my routine except for cones; my hair was soft but lacked definition...
pics of:
1. before CG
2. before CG
3. 3 weeks CG
4. 3 months CG
5. 5 months CG

Great pictures everyone!!
Here are some of mine - from about a year and a half ago when DD was little, one of the only good, closeupish ones of my hair that I can find!
This one was taken last week -
I'm amazed at the difference!

Ive been CG for about 2 weeks as of today. I did my hair today and Im so happy I found this method. What a difference.
Here is my before pic...my hair was longer then. You can see there is hardly any curl definition, and my hair looks so dried out!
Here is my after pic!

ok. So I don't know how to just put the pictures in my response, but here is a before picture and some after pictures.
Picture 1= Not the greatest example of what my hair looked like before and not the greatest example of what my nose looks like either (I hope). This was from August/September.
Picture 2= A weird, but awesome, curl clump at my bangs (it comes for no reason, and I see it about once or twice a month ---> weird). This is at about 1.5 month CG
Picture 3, 4, and 5 are from today after I styled it. I had some great curl definition, but it lost volume pretty quickly. Dang it.) These are at about 2.5 months CG.
Also while I have these posted, I can't really tell what my curl type is. What do you think?
