okay... I am going to start CG because of all of these pictures. How can I help it?? I just have to get through a bottle of nasty shampoo because I'm a cheapskate and can't throw anything away
...oh and that 32 oz bottle of 'cone-filled conditioner. what was I thinking.
anyhow, know that you have all inspired a future CGer :-)

If you want to start sooner, keep the shampoo for those occasional times you want to clarify, and use the conditioner for leg shaving!

She can also use the shampoo for washing hands.. just pour it on a dispenser.
And I second using conditioner for shaving legs. Way cheaper than shaving cream and I think it works better.

The CG Method has made my hair so much shinier and it looks and feels healthier. I'm so glad I tried it! Now I use Kinky Curly Shampoo every once in a while when I feel like I need to use shampoo, but it has no sulfates!
Attached are pictures from before CG, 5 days CG, and 5 weeks Cg!
I use:
Kinky Curly Come Clean Moisturizing Shampoo
Elucence Moisture Balancing Conditioner
AG Re:Coil (Comb SMALL amount through wet hair)
Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper (Scrunch through wet hair)
MopTop Anti Frizz Gel (Tiny amount)
This combo of products took me years to figure out so hopefully it will work for you too!

I had dreadlocks right before I began CG too.
Did you brush yours out? Thats what I did; it took over a month.
And your hair is looking really nice by the way!

You guys are making me want to try CG again. I tried for a short time about a year ago but gave it up though I had some success. I just felt like my hair started to feel greasy and I had to cowash every day. I only wash every few days now but it's not curly anymore and is getting longer and yuckier. I just had a baby so I'm not up for any major routines and usually my hair is in a pony anyway, but I want to feel pretty again! Maybe CG will help me feel good about my hair again.
Incidently, when I was doing CG, I thought my hair looked kinda funky (in a bad way) but really curly but I remember going out to eat with the family and getting lots of looks my way, even from my relatives. I wonder now if it looked really bad or really good! We'll see.

Hi Everyone
I just found this site and the CG method two nights ago (and stayed up browsing the boards until 2am, I'm such a nerdling!). I was so convinced the next morning I decided to quite sulfates and silicones and all that crap cold turkey, so I took my last sulphate shampoo and that was that (didn't even have the right products to do my first co-wash yet).
Anyway, here are some before pics, I tried finding ones that represented my hair on an average day...right after blow drying it's always super huge and awesome but falls flat within 30 mins or so.
I'm now on my official first day (first co-wash, second day without crappy chemicals, and second day of plopping).
I'm so happy with what's happening with my hair so far, I hope it continues to improve etc.
This board is so overwhelming at first, but such a great source of knowledge.
Looking forward to many happy curly years ahead. I always knew I had better curls under there somewhere!
Loving the curls,
K

OK I think I've been CG long enough that I've noticed a difference now and am really pleased with the results.
I've been CG for about 2 months.
The first one was back in March of 08 before CG the last two were taken today

Oh my word, what beautiful transformations! You're all such inspirations! Now if only cutting bad foods out of my diet was as easy as cutting bad chemicals and products out of my hair styling...
I've literally just started but the effects, to me, are just as rapid! And if anyone wants to take a stab at my curl type, I would be grateful. I can't wait to get it cut on Friday though... I've never been this excited for a haircut before!
This was just a few days ago
And this was yesterday!
I still have a ways to go with it and I think it will be a lot fuller and more bouncy when I get some length removed but the effects I've already seen are making me so excited and happy!
