Why not just cut a few inches off, see how you like it for a couple of months, then cut some more off...if you hate it, it will take less time to grow back. Only do a cut that big if you are CERTAIN. I've cut off over a foot at a time before, but I've never stressed out over a haircut...it grows back. I had waist length hair that I had cut to about chin length. I'm still bummed that the salon didn't do locks of love.
My stylist told me about one girl she had though who cried so much that she couldn't continue the cut. You know your personality and what you should do

For future reference: your salon doesn't have to "do" Locks of Love. When I donated, my stylist measured my ponytail and cut it for me, but I mailed it to Locks of Love myself. They have very specific instructions on their website about how donate, even if you cut your hair at home.

Before CG (9/3/09):

3 1/2 weeks after starting (9/29/09)

No before pics of the back, but here's a pic after CG:

ETA: the two later pics are at the end of a day when I got caught in a couple of wind gusts.

Styling Product: HETT mousse

TRYING to grow it out- maybe softer water and going almost strictly CG will help!

Good to know!! I wish I had known it then. Thanks, cos now the thought of growing out to donate is itching at me again.
Thanks

Here are mine. It's been 3 months. About 1000 products, 1 Deva Cut, and countless styling methods and hours later

The first two and the last one are me (1st BCG, 2nd is Darcy's Botanicals, 3rd is Jessicurl) and the next two are my daughter Her's are much more dramatic!

I don't have any pic of my curls before CG because I ALWAYS straightened. But the first pic is from when I was about a month into mod CG and the second is from a couple of weeks ago, I'm now full CG.

Thanks! My hair tends to get curlier as it gets longer so I'm trying desperately to grow it out

Oh lord, I've put so much color in my hair I honestly couldn't tell you. I had highlights then more highlights then I used henna then I got sick of the red and put a box color in at home

I was on nc.com since spring, but had a lot of trouble resisting the urge to shampoo. I was so amazed at the transformation of me not brushing my hair, that I didn't think it was going to get any better. But guess what? It DID!!! I'm still experimenting, trying to control the frizz, etc., but I still think these pics show the difference. Thank you to all the curlies on the website who supported me! And if you don't know whether or not you should go CG, do it. You won't regret it.

Great transisitioning,
I quit CG method, I missed my vintage hair and my victory rolls hairdo's,
so I'm back to poo again.

I'm curently using Jane carter solutions, and I have a brand new bottle of Mop Top shampoo, witch is actualy sulphate free

I'm having better hair than I used to have
before I used curly products,
but for me it wasnt that easy doing my styles and doing CG

I've had curly hair my whole life. From as early as I can remember until my freshmen year of high school my mother would force me to keep my hair straight, and even do the 2 hour process for me 3 times a week. I finally decided one day that it really wasn't worth all the effort. My hair was broken and damaged when I went all curly, but now its silky, bouncy and fun! I wouldn't trade my curly hair for the world!
