Default might as well

Have been modified CG for 2 months now, after 3 months of strict CG (co-wash tends to leave my roots greasy...I find a low-poo 2x a week necessary).

Am planning on dying my hair back to its neutral dark blonde state, or maybe something a tad darker. Have been highlighting for 7 years.

I cringe when I think of what I used to do to my hair. After having my baby in January I tried to speed up hair-drying time by rubbing my scalp furiously with a terrycloth towel and raking a brush through the whole mess. Or if I tried to comb in the shower, I would slug through my sulfate-washed hair for 15 minutes cussing at all of the tangles. I still have moments of frustration but the outlook is much, much better. Thank you, fortuitous Google search that led to nc.com!

curlsgirlbrazil,

thank you, thank you!!

My curls are never really that good, so the hand dry gloves are helping me a lot.

I've only been CG since Sept, but all I can say is Yeah!! My hair is much easier to manage. I'm finally starting to feel good about my hair and how it looks. After 40 years of being a poofy mess, it's such a relief! The pic to the right is when I first started CG.

Maci,

Your hair looks GREAT!! I know how you feel. I've spent years straightening my hair and fighting the curl. Good luck!!

Oh o.o Wow! Your hair looks just like mine! Exact same shade (I bleach it a bit less maybe, with sun in rather than true highlighting), same type of "maybe I'll curl and maybe I won't" curl...same length even! I feel like I'm looking at my hair on someone else's head. Well, except that your before pictures are a looot better than mine would be (I'm not CG, I just do all the plopping, diffusing, application parts, so no pictures in this thread!).

Ok, my before and after! So since I went cone and sulfate free a few years ago, I never cowashed because my first impressions were terrible. So here's a few pictures from the past few months after starting to cowash.

1 - Pre-cowashing, beginning of Sept. (yuck!!)
2 - Pre-cowashing, mid Sept - MY WEDDING DAY! I must say, I had AMAZING hair that day, 2nd day hair with lots and lots of mousse and hair spray (not so CG)
3 - CG, October - a few days in, maybe a week? I waited til after my wedding to start cowashing
4 - CG, a few days ago at my desk at work

Thanks wredna and welcome! You will find great information here at nc.com to help you. I've spent lots of time here and really appreciate what I've learned from everyone. Good luck on your curls!

So, I know it's only 3 days into CG for me, but i'm so pleased with what's happened so far that I had to post

The back is still not as curly/wavy as I wish it was, but i'm just so happy about the reduction in frizz right now that I don't really care!

On the left are pictures from Saturday, just shampoo/conditioner and left to dry naturally. Pictures on the right are from today - 3 days into CG with the super soaker method.

(I'm not sure why that sweater makes me look like I gained roughly 50lbs in the last 4 days!!)
