This thread is giving me major hair envy. I will have to dig up some photos tonight, even though I still feel like I haven't made a dramatic transformation, but I'll let you guys be the judge.
Everyone's hair looks SO GOOD! More more more...

Haha, thank you.
But seriously, SBB has absolutely amazing hair and deserves said crown.
And all I can say to all of these before and after pictures, is DANG! It's a wonder what moisture and quality products can do for a girl.

I cannot believe the changes in everyone's curls!!
I am striving to get better curl definition. Of course, photographing dark hair curls is difficult.

I like how we've seen good results regardless of hair type both number wise and fine/coarse wise.

I actually mentioned this thread to some curlies I met. I gave them the Curly Ambassador card and told them to check out the before and after pics. They checked it out at and reported back to me with how impressed they were with the transformations.
Fresh meat to convert! Muwhahahaha

I'm digging that too. I guess all you need is curly, or potentially curly, hair!

I agree.
Just seeing all of these transformations proves to me that staying CG is the best thing I could do for my hair.

Maybe you should show your Dad the thread to help him with his new appreciation for curly hair.

Haha, maybe I should. I don't know how much it will help, but it's worth a shot.

before: about 9 years ago
before: a year or so before I found this site and began trying out Curly Girl
after: a couple years into it, following modified cg, and with henna!
after: current hair [however, I break about every cg rule except the no-silicones one, and is that even a cg rule anymore since LM herself breaks it? ]

She breaks the no silicone rule? Does she shampoo? ahh, I'm confused...
(ps, very nice transformation)

Yes, it is confusing. She breaks the no silly cone rule from Curly Girl by putting them in some of her products. There's something about them being "not as bad" silly cones, but I'm too tired to look it up.
She doesn't break the no shampoo rule, however. I'm the one who does that. [Albeit rarely.]
Mostly, I just wanted to make sure people out there knew I wasn't truly cg, because of the title of this thread. It was a starting point for me, but not much of it wound up sticking.
Anyway, not trying to dig on LM or anything. Whatever works.
And thanks.

We're nosy. So sue us.
That and this thread is a great way to let newcomers in on just what CG does for many of us curlies.

This thread is so inspirational! I tried CG a few years back with limited success (and have been mostly sulfate and totally silicone free since, but not strict CG), but now I'm thinking I didn't give it enough time.
Seems like most of you have said it took at least 6 weeks to really start seeing results, and that there were some horrible hair days in that time. Sound about right?
I'm revisiting Deva products, and am starting with a clarifying shampoo and deep treatment tonight. If my hair looks half as gorgeous as all of your pics, I'll be a happy woman.
Thanks for sharing!
