Buckeye, I think your hair is absolutely gorgeous, and I am not just being partial to you because I am in Ohio! (Go Bucks! Go Bobcats!)

Default Wow...it only took one time. :D

This is the picture I took last night.

And this is the picture after my first CG hair routine today and a few hours to air dry.

OH. MY. GOSH. There is NO frizz! And that was my MAIN PROBLEM WITH MY CURLS.
I officially love all of you for introducing me to this stuff. I'll post another in a month or so...I know my hair cut probably isn't meant for curly hair, but I'll get it cut...eventually.
Btw, is it normal to have slightly wavy hair at the top and more curls at the bottom?

Yep. Wavies rarely have a consistent curl pattern. Your hair looks great BTW.

Just realized that I've been around for quite some time and I hadn't posted my befores and afters.

These pictures are both from spring/summer, and are about a year apart. The before was a pretty curly day for pre-CG. The other pics are today and yesterday. This is after about six months of CG/modified CG.

This was my hair this morning. Until today I washed with regular shampoos and conditioners full of sulfates and cones, letting it dry naturally. I never did the upside down thing, I just squeezed most of the water out with the towel standing straight up and then I used my fingers to comb through and lift the hair every now and then while drying.

I washed it thoroughly with a shampoo with sulfates for the last time this morning, used a cheap cone free conditioner, combed it through with a wide tooth comb, then rinsed it out. Then I used a little of another conditioner (just a little as I was worried I might overcondition) and rinsed it out. Out of the shower, I went through my hair with my hand to part it. In the upside down position, I used a towel to gently squeeze excess water out, then used my hands, and then put in some curl mousse without cones (still upside down).

It's the first time I did this, I definitely didn't overcondition as I was worried I might, so I'm going to keep on washing with the conditioner only, and might add a leave in. The upside down thing is something I have to get used too as well, but I like the results so far.

(sorry for the nakedness of my face - didn't have time to put on make up LOL)

If anyone has any suggestions or advice - greatly appreciated! I am very new to this!

Oh, and I posted some pics yesterday in this subforum asking what type I might be. My hair looks and feels a lot different than in those pics, what do you think my type is?

I'd say 3A using this new routine. As the condition of your hair improves, who knows? You might even turn into a 3B. At the very least, your 3A curls will be more consistent.

Here are some before CG Photos. I started CG last Sunday so I am going to wait another week or two before I post my CG pics.

(Sorry they look like I'm trying to be a model or something. My boyfriend does photography. )

Can someone tell me what curl type I am?

I was thinking either 3a or 3b. Those weren't my curliest days so maybe I'm a sprinkling of both? lol

You might be. Lots of us are mixes of curl or wave types.
