hey guys,
i'm totally new to CG but i really really wanna try it! when i shampooed my hair the last time it looked frizz-tastic. so i looked for a way to keep my hair un-frizzed. and CG sounded pretty cool.
i was amazed by the changes you hair did, by the way!! It all looks so beautiful!

but i've got a few questions first.. i used to wash my hair every second day in the evenings, which is not good, i know, but since i have to get up at 6 in the morning i'm not able to get up earlier or i'll fall asleep in class! and now, when i for example washed it sunday morning, then the next time would be tuesday afternoon/evening. and before washing, my hair looks a bit oily on top.
is that going to happen with CG methode too? i only have one conditioner by John Frieda and i know that there's cones in the shampoos (at least that's what my mon said) but do any of you use this conditioner?
i live in germany and i don't know which products i could use, because i guess i can't buy some products here... can you recommend some that i could get here too?
i guess this is the completely wrong topic but after seeing your beautiful curls! i was stunned! and i know that i'm saying it again and again but it's a fact that your hair looks gorgeous (:

by the way, you all seem to be very nice (;

(not cause i'm motivated to get to work early, i'm lazy and oversleep.) also, i don't have any experience with the conditioner you use and don't know what you could get in germany. i am sure some of the others here could help you. whatever you end up using (if you want to go sulfate free), be sure to agitate and massage scalp really well (especially on places that get oily), that action is what's going to get the dirt out.

well, that's all i got.. hope i helped in some small way!

... my big usual smile for multicultcurly :P

3 b/c bsl length ridiculously thick brown curls with blonde highlights

I'm really like my curls but rarely wear my hair fully down as it isn't really styled and tends to go bushy

... really seeking an edgy indie style cut that suits my hair type, but wont make the move till I'm sure its right for me as I have been growing my hair to this point for so long
thank you for the quick and helping answer, dagidoodle (:
i'm going to try the curly girls methode today and see if i'll post some pictures too.

I have been doing the cg now for a couple days and my hair is like straw, it seems so dried out and frizzy, I am not sure what i am doing wrong other than I was not able to do the honey rinse. Any suggestions would help.

I am confused, is there a difference between shampoo-free and CG? Does it really matter if there is two different kinds of condish in your CG routine. I just want to make sure I am doing this right.
I also have a scheduled appt with my new hair dresser who is not very knowledgeable with curly hair, but no one in my area is, so should I ask her not to use shampoo on my hair? I am going for a trim and highlights. I am going to tell her to keep her thinning shears and razors away from my hair.
Curlyrealtor...they're not exactly the same. Some people follow a modified CG routine which includes low poo, meaning non-sulfate containing. The other important part is to avoid the use of silicones and make sure that all products are water soluble since you are not shampooing, or at least not as much as you used to. Read Laura Lee's CG guide at dormroomcurly.blogspot.com for more information.

Hi all,

New here, haven't introduced myself formally but started a thread about taking care of my curls as they grow.

I am not sure what CG means, I am assuming some form of transformation as the hair grew? I am on another hair-orientated forum and they like to do such comparisons. My hair is natural, I dont do any curling or modifications (except break those damn knots starting to appear).

Anyway, first photo me mid-November. Thick, bushy afro.

Second photo, me today as I didn't go to work. Extended length is past chin but as hair is very curly it only reaches the nose. I am also growing it from a bowl type haircut hence it looks shorter than it really is.

Mods, feel free to delete my post if it isnt related to the discussion (CG).
