In the FIA hairtyping, the letter is for hair texture (fine, medium, coarse) and the last bit is for density. So, 3 is the curl type, m is for medium, and iii means thick. You can have fine hair but lots of it, or coarse but not much. Knowing your hair properties can help determine what products will work better for you. HTH

I was wondering hair type?
3b?
also porosity... I did the test and my hair feels "bumpy" does that mean its porous?

Looks 3b to me. As for porosity, I don't really know. The tests are weird. I just feel like mine is porous because I have coloured and permed so much in the last 15 years...so there has to be some damage from that.

Default Two months

I know that I still have a long way to go (my hair has been ridiculously abused and actually lost most of its natural curl), but 2 months into CG I am loving the results so far. Finally got around to posting pictures - the state of my hair in the "before" is absolutely atrocious!! But it's getting better And it's all thanks to NC.com for introducing me to CG and helping me out with my thousands of stupid questions along the way! Thanks, you guys!

I like the results, it's much curlier and shinier than before.

Wink hi

ok so for years - im almost a teen- i have always brushed my hair out alot or had my mom do my hair when i was younger. all i know for a fact is i had definate ringlets. bcuz looking at pics from when i was a baby u can tell in the pics. so the main thing i am wondering is if i do cg will my ringlets start to comeback. cuz for a couple of months- since around mid june or the beginning- i have stopped brushing it out 24/7. and my ringlets are starting to come back a little slow. bacuz i have some tight curls and ringlets starting to form. so the q is "if i do cg will it bring back my ringlets?"

it's possible. it will probably take a bit of time for your hair to adjust but you will most likely see improvement. i would start in the newbie thread to get a grasp of CG method and then give it a try!
