There are so many factors that play into it, it's impossible to tell without knowing your properties and your products and routines. I'd suggest starting a separate thread asking for help, so that we don't guano this one, and be as specific as possible as far as what you've been doing and what your texture, porosity, and elasticity are. I know the wonderful ladies here will have a ton of suggestions for you!
Thank you very much for your reply.
I will do that!

hey guys,
I detected CG 2days ago and think it's very interesting....I started the same day with CG, because my curls are not curly anymore....
Maybe you have a few proposals for me what I can do with my hair...
I only use a conditioner for curly hair from Guhl....(I live in germany, maybe it isn't available in america, I don't know^^)....

and here are a few pictures of my hair....
the first one is about 2 1/2years ago when I loved my hair
Post your before & After CG pics-l_220f5a1b27d6b4a991256403531c98b9.jpg
the second one is a "good hair day" when it wasn't totally frizzy or even straight...-.-'(birthday picture last year)
Post your before & After CG pics-bild-046.jpg
and this is what my hair looks now after 2days of CG...(actually a "good hair day"^^ and please excuse my silly smile)
Post your before & After CG pics-bilder-001.jpg
Post your before & After CG pics-bilder-011.jpg
(unfortunately I haven't found any yet where you can see how awful it was the last time)

so...can you help me?
(if you know how I can make the pictures bigger please let me know)

Talking My Xperience

CG rookie here...
I'm feeling proud to present you the... okay, not so proud. 'cause I don't own yet a decent camera, I had to take pics of myself with the webcam. "sniff" Anyways, to present you (or to start tracking) my CG progress.
Until a week ago I haven't had any idea of what co-washing is. I'm guessing very few people in my country know (me iz from Romania). Thankfully I got into this thread and the befores you posted were so inspiring that I dumped my shampoo for no shampoo. My main issue is that I don't really have free-cone conditioners around here, so I started with a cheap one which has not any silicone mentioned on the list of ingredients, although it's so cheap I HOPE there really aren't any.
Don't know exactly what my hair type is, maybe a 2b-2c?

Here's a pic taken about 2 years ago (my "before", since my hair looked the same until 4 days ago when I moved to CG routine). I think it was my 2nd or 3rd day hair - I used to wash my hair one time a week.

Now the Low-Q pic taken after my first wash using ONLY conditioner (the cheapie one I mentioned above and L'Oreal Total repair for rinse out):

And one taken an hour ago when I got home. I co-washed again this morning then basically run to work with my hair still wet and all tangled into a messy bun. After 6 hours it was still damp so I let it down and... played all day long with my fingers through my locks - bad bad habit which I'm trying to get rid of.

Not very clear picture and bad lighting too. Anyways I lost a lot of my waves' definition until now, but still seeing a change, a good one! I'm definitely going to continue with this.
Ah, one more: my colleagues asked me why I've stopped straightening my hair and started complimenting my curls (yeah, they were loose curls in the morning :-> ). The thing is I rarely staightened it before. So it was a difference for them too.

Not sure what I'm going to do from now on because it looks like I'm so in love with my conditioner that I'd love to wash daily! I must be patient, mmm?

This is a very inspirational thread and I'm so grateful for finding you girls!
Excuse any misspelling and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here and there, I'm not a native English speaker.

Friendly,
Diana

Also, enlighten me up a bit. When people here say they were co-washing for 4 days, does it mean they were doing it for 4 days in a row? Or 4 times ?

Tomorrow is 4 weeks since I went CG. I have had to clarify today but here you go!

Before, using heat on it to sort-of straighten and heat to curl as well!

After!

Default Update!

I just had to do an update of my progress because today my hair looked so amazing-worlds away from the curls I started CG with. I am amazed at the transformation.

Right after I started CG (about one week in):

Almost exactly 4 months after going CG:

pics in my signature are also from 4 months after starting CG.

last pre CG day, i must say my hair definitely needed a cut, way to heavy.

After 1 month of CG and after a cut.

Good results, but it doesn't look like that everyday. I hope it gets lots and lots better.

I'm more of a mod-CG. I shampoo (no sulfates) once a week, and co-wash daily. I use a leave-in conditioner, avg, and fsg.

Pre-mod CG - frizzy as heck, unmanageable, lacking in shine. I still loved my curls though.

Me last weekend. I don't take pics during the week, I tie it back for work (mostly because of wearing a hardhat, I hate tying my hair back....). But the shine! Definition! And, it feels soft too, and doesn't go nutzoid if it gets touched. I don't think I'll go full CG since this is working rather well...

To me, anything that gives me fabulous hair and saves me money is worth it. And this probably saves me $40/month on hair products... so...

Pre CG
One of my "curly" days. I straightened everyday for 4 years.

The Month I started CG
I was using Devacurl at the time

Over a year CG
Today
I used Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Conditioner, a mix of CJ Curl Fix and CCCC, CJ AFG, Alba Botanica Strong hold gel on top.

I am so much more happy now that I'm not straightening my hair three times a day to keep it straight

Gorgeous! Do you airdry? Clip, plop, anything? I see your products, but I can't really use them myself. Aloe is horrible on my hair. Lucky you.
