CG rookie here...
I'm feeling proud to present you the... okay, not so proud. 'cause I don't own yet a decent camera, I had to take pics of myself with the webcam. "sniff" Anyways, to present you (or to start tracking) my CG progress.
Until a week ago I haven't had any idea of what co-washing is. I'm guessing very few people in my country know (me iz from Romania). Thankfully I got into this thread and the befores you posted were so inspiring that I dumped my shampoo for no shampoo.
My main issue is that I don't really have free-cone conditioners around here, so I started with a cheap one which has not any silicone mentioned on the list of ingredients, although it's so cheap I HOPE there really aren't any.
Don't know exactly what my hair type is, maybe a 2b-2c?
Here's a pic taken about 2 years ago (my "before", since my hair looked the same until 4 days ago when I moved to CG routine). I think it was my 2nd or 3rd day hair - I used to wash my hair one time a week.
Now the Low-Q pic taken after my first wash using ONLY conditioner (the cheapie one I mentioned above and L'Oreal Total repair for rinse out):
And one taken an hour ago when I got home. I co-washed again this morning then basically run to work with my hair still wet and all tangled into a messy bun. After 6 hours it was still damp so I let it down and... played all day long with my fingers through my locks - bad bad habit which I'm trying to get rid of.
Not very clear picture and bad lighting too. Anyways I lost a lot of my waves' definition until now, but still seeing a change, a good one! I'm definitely going to continue with this.
Ah, one more: my colleagues asked me why I've stopped straightening my hair and started complimenting my curls (yeah, they were loose curls in the morning :-> ). The thing is I rarely staightened it before.
So it was a difference for them too.
Not sure what I'm going to do from now on because it looks like I'm so in love with my conditioner that I'd love to wash daily! I must be patient, mmm?
This is a very inspirational thread and I'm so grateful for finding you girls!
Excuse any misspelling and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here and there, I'm not a native English speaker.
