ohmygod... YOUR HAIR! i love love love it. such full, bouncy curls... my hair is extremely fine, so it's never in thicker strands like yours. seriously, you must have people trying to touch your hair all the time! i know i would (this coming from someone who HATES when people touch her hair).
argh, so pretty.

2 months

last pic of my hair long, a few days before I started cg in march.

about a month in

yesterday!
I just started plopping a few days ago and really love the results. CG for about 2 months now, some patches are still really dry, but I like how it's going!

Wow, everyone's before and after pictures are so amazing!!
Newbie rambles: I started CG today after the second time it was recommended to me, last week. I think I'll like it, and all these pictures along with the book are really inspiring. My hair takes ages to dry, though, so tomorrow I'm going to use a diffuser as well in hopes that I won't have to go to school with wet hair again. I used to use a dryer at full power after lots of shampoo and then some mousse, so my hair was wavy/curly but dry and kinda frizzy. Now I hope it'll get healthier and curlier.
My "before" pictures (if I had any handy) would actually look like yours, Merrycam, and if the afters turn out anywhere near what you have, I would be thrilled, aha. Your hair is gorgeous!

Another newbie. WOW. This thread is incredible, I am so inspired and motivated by the pictures here. I never get sick of looking at them. I can't wait to be an "after" someday! Thanks, everyone, for sharing the encouragement.

My hair has been looking really crappy lately. I've been washing with Elucence and conditioning with Body Shop Banana or Biolage Conditioning Balm.
Here's my hair about a week and a half ago for a "before". It's not terrible but it's more unruly than curly.
And here it is this morning, after one time using No-Poo. I have tried CO washing in the past and it never worked this well.
ETA: I only used No-Poo in the shower. No additional conditioner. My hair is so short right now that it seemed like conditioner after something so thick would be too much. Products in my hair are re:coil and BRHG, which I've been using here and there for years. Hair's been plopped, clipped with duckbill clips and diffused a little bit. It had been styled the same way in the "before" as well.

starting today!
Hey everyone! I am just starting CG today. Here is my "before" -- just a few hours ago, pre-sulfate wash.
I am hoping my hair is wavy/curly enough to see results!

KRM -
Your hair (very pretty!) looks like it has potential and as just about everybody here will tell you, going CG will help bring your hair to its full curl potential. At some point you might ask your stylist to put some layers in to help bring out even more curl - hopefully a curl specialist.
Good luck!

Curlini -- thank you! I have already seen some results, I am loving it. I have a few stringy layers in there but I think the next time I see my stylist, I will ask for more. I think that will really help, like you said. Seeing everyone's progress photos has been so inspiring!!

Messy... or curly?
Here's mine. I'm just at day 3 doing the CG method, but I'm not sure if my hair just looks messy or if this is discernible curl. Or wave, as it is. What do you think? I'll post again in a month or so, maybe I'll have some progress. I'm using the Beautiful Curls line from Whole Foods (the "wavy to curly" products). I've got some JessiCurl on order, we'll see which works best.

I've only been CG for a little while (a week or so) but am already loving the results still have a bit to go though..
These first two pictures are from before;
But I've stopped straightening and am finally embracing my natural hair for the very first time in my life!
I really must send out a sincere thank you to the Naturally Curly community. My perception of beauty has changed drastically, and I'm finally realising that natural is truly beautiful.

I'm doing CG for over 2months now and the results are getting better and better but they aren't nearly as good as yours.

Italiangermanmix and curlylicious, thank you for the complements!
I live in Australia, so I was unable to find pretty much any of the products I've read about on the threads, but I went to a store (priceline) and spent a whole lot of time choosing products, reading the ingredients list and asking for assistance. I ended up choosing a protein conditioner called 'Sukin'- which clearly states on the packaging that it's free of sulphates and a whole lot of other things. And as a leave-in I used the 'Al'chemy' brand. However, both of these products are apparently Australian made, so I'm unsure if you'd be able to find them overseas. I basically just chose products based on the ingredient list, trying to avoid the -cone, -conol, and -xane.
Thank you again!
