Okay...so I'm completely obsessed now. I spent hours yesterday and today reading posts and looking at pics. I'm new to this (day 4) and love everybody's curls. I ordered the Curly Girl book and DevaCurl trial kit, but couldn't wait to get started. I see a change already! Can't wait until my hair is healthy. I'm going to attempt to post pics. One is pre-cg bangs straight, outside pic is pre-cg curly, last is 4 days cg. My bangs won't curl (they are fried). They are kind of tucked under curls for now.

OMG, Stacyw71, your hair looks GORGEOUS already, and you're only four days in?!?! That's insane. It looks AWESOME.

Stacyw, Your hair looks so pretty! I love the curly bangs a lot.
I thought I'd posted my pics, but it must have been in another thread. I have wavy hair, so no lovely ringlets like many CGs here, but I am pretty happy with the transformation. THe first pic is how I used to wear it- straight. The second is when I started trying to let it air dry and began investigating CG. Look at all that damage! Yikes!!! The third is 3 mos of CG.

Stacyw71, your hair looks great! The pre-cg pic looks similar to my hair now. Can I ask what products you used and what your technique was?

Pepper,
Thank you! I used Suave naturals Coconut conditioner as a co-wash and Garnier Fructis Fortifying cream conditioner as a rinse out and then also as a leave in. Coated with a lot of Dep Sport Gel. Defined curls with finger twirls (I forget what they call that). I used a diffuser until almost dry and air dried the rest. When dry, I used a cotton shirt to "scrunch out the crunch".
I am still looking for the best products for me. Like I said, I have DevaCurl trial on order, but full sizes are pricey so I am looking at other options too. I have a list of products that I wrote down from other posts that I want to try. Still fighting with bangs that won't curl, but I guess that might be a while. For now, I'm just trying to cover them with hair that does curl.

Thanks, pedaheh! I still have a long way to go, but when I look at these pictures, I realize how far I've come. And I never thought I'd be OK with giving up sulfate shampoo...or my trusty flat iron... So glad I did!

Wavyone, I think your wavy hair is absolutely gorgeous on you! I think the wavy hair looks so cute and so much more "colorful" and fun on you! Looks great, and it looks so healthy and shiny!

Thank you so much! All I can say is, I am so happy I've stuck with this! Though there is a lot involved in getting there, it is very freeing to accept one's natural hair!

New here
Hello!
I'm from Germany and I love this community!
I never thought anybody else has crazy hair like me.
I am so happy to read about CG, I did my first CO-wash 2 days ago and the result is just crazy! I'm still not sure about my hair type. I think 2c, but it could get more curly after a few weeks more with the CG method.
The first picture is before CG and air-dried hair. horrible!
The other two pictures are after the first CO wash and second hair day.

Just barely started doing CG but already notice a huge difference! The underneath parts of my hair that weren't as chemically/heat damaged and were not thinned out by my previous stylist are starting to get very curly - nice thick ringlets, the top is still frizzy, flyaway and having a hard time pulling itself together, but should get better with time and trimming! The last 3 pics are 1 week into CG, the last 2 are second day hair

Yay
Now I will say, I didn't go completely CG.
I just stopped using anything with cones.
I still straighten my hair whenever I feel like it.
BEFORE
It had been bleached, dyed.. drug threw hell.
AND AFTER
My hair is just soft, Not oily.
Also, My hair is completely DRY in this photo.
(The sun added a little TOO much shine)
Though I recently accidentally purchased a deep
conditioner with a "cone".. Yep. Didn't even notice
but honestly, This deep C made my hair
even softer. So I haven't gone full on CG
but it sure has helped.
Now, I can actually wear my hair down and not in an
"up do" that my bf hates so much lol.
