I know! Calamity has spectacular hair! I had a momentary fleeting dream of my hair becoming her hair... then I came back to reality and realized I was delusional. HAHA!

At first when i combed it

two weeks in. first time to get it together.

one month in after wakign up from a nap

a few weeks after i shampooed again because i got dandruff. that's me on the left. on the right is my friend who just got a perm.

a few weeks ago. two weeks after the previous pic. i got lazy to fix my hair that morning.

My Routine:

I scrub my scalp with condish with coin sized dollops on certain areas, until i feel it's clean.

Then i add a handful from middle to the ends then distribute.

I detangle from the bottom then rinse. Then squeeze out the excess water.

Add a little less than the amount I use during conditioning for leave on. Then scrunch.

I don't know if I'm doing it right but I pump them a little and scrunch only as much as I need to. It's a very delicate process. One scrunch to far will make me look like a puppy. I use my hand. Then a towel.

I add a coin sized amound of condish to coat the final product. Then air dry. DO NOT TOUCH AT ALL. And I'm good to go.

What I do is basically wash and go. And I have to do it everyday to keep from getting dandruff. I wash in the morning before school, but sometimes at night when I feel icky from gym class.

All I use is Suave Naturals Juicy Green Apple. A few more from the suave line.

Vo5 does not work for me. Also, I don't make too much fuss over my hair anymore. If I have a good hair day then great. If not, at least I know it's a bit presentable and I've gained a great confidence boost now that I know how to take care of it.

I used to cry over my ugly hair but after CG one day, I stranger stopped me to say to her friend that my hair is what she wants for herself at the salon. It was the best thing that ever happened to me.
What a difference a year makes! It's just over one year since I embraced my curls and my hair looks pretty darn good.

To the left, is about a week and a half after I went CG, right is about 2 weeks ago, New Years Eve 2011.

This is a "good hair day" pre-CG (and, I might add, was taken several years ago when I was much younger):

*gag*

Here's another, a couple years later. Still pre-CG:

And another . . . look at that nasty horrible hair. What was I thinking?

And lastly (I'm the one sitting down):

Those are all totally natural, btw . . . no blow-drying or straightening, or anything. Just too much brushing. Bleh.

Ok, and now here's AFTER CG--

This is a couple days ago, about 2 weeks after starting CG:

And this is this evening--about 3 weeks into CG, right after it fully air dried (sorry about the picture quality):

I'm happy.

Currently trying out the CG method again as of 1/3/12!

Current Routine:
Co-wash/RO: Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle
Low poo: Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat (when needed)
Products: LA Looks Sports Gel and Curly Kinks Coil Jam

Your before and afters are so dramatic and wonderful; that all that length "came back to life" like that, just amazing!
ooo, this is a fun game!

Looking through this thread and then looking back through my pictures of the last few years, I realized that I probably dealt with my curly haired trauma by cutting my hair reeeeallly short and keeping it that way for so long!
On the upside, you can cover up frizz pretty well and its not so hard to straighten. But I'm glad that my growing out and my CG liberation coincided. Maybe its not coincidence?

The first two are pre CG. The third is with modified CG (using mostly deva products with the occasional sulfate shampoo), the last two are from just a few days ago - about two months into full on CG.

so much fun!
