Hi guys...first pic is pre cg about 7 months ago. The second pic is right now about 1 month of cg. I'm so happy I discovered this website! My hair looks and feels so much healthier and shinier, I'm still working on getting good clumps but that'll get better with time
Now that I think of it, the post cg pic isn't that good cause you can't really see most of my curls lol. It's just waves on top and really big spirals on bottom...I'll see if I can find a better pic...

BUMP! It's official after going through fourty pages of this I'm starting the curly girl method in two days (I just washed my hair today and I know to start out you have to wash out the silcones out with the dreaded sulfate filled shampoos, that wouldn't be good for my hair right after haha). I feel like this is an important thread to keep going because it really shows the beauty of curls and how amazing they can look when treated properly. I myself like my hair but if it can be more defined and shinier I'm going for it!

Hi curlygirlyy,
As far as product choice, it doesn't matter what your curl type is as much as your hair thickness, porosity, and elasticity. Take a shed hair. Roll it between your fingers. If you can barely feel it, your hair is fine and will tend to like protein. If it's as thick as sewing thread, or nearly so, it's coarse and will prefer moisturizers. Now run your fingers along the hair. If both directions are smooth, you have non porous hair and it will prefer moisturizers. If one direction is rough, bumpy, and even squeaky, you have very porous hair and it'll tend to like protein. Last, take both ends and gently pull. If your hair breaks without stretching, you have low elasticity and probably need more moisture. If your hair stretches but doesn't come back to its original length, your hair is overly elastic and probably needs protein.
---
2c/3a, M, ii, porous, good elasticity, APL, silvery dark brown.
Love coconut oil, olive oil, and Everyday Shea!

I've only been CG for 2 days, but my hair has already changed dramatically. The first photo is from last week; the second is from midday today, after an hour by the lake.
My (very newbie) routine is: CO - L'Oreal EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner; RO - Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition; LI - Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Dryness Reversal Treatment. Let it dry as I sleep. No styling product. Looking forward to finding a good protein treatment, as I suspect that'll give my hair another leap forward in health.
