Hi! This is about a year ago, and then this winter (phew)
After going CG (wow)!
I would love to find out how to get my volume back, though! Still experimenting.
Whisper_hotshot, have you seen this? Might help you troubleshoot: MASTERPOST: Types of Frizz

I've been CG off and on now for about 6-8 months. I'm also growing my hair out
The first picture is when I've straightened my hair, the second is when I let it airdry (before CG,) and the third is a picture of CG from a few months ago.
I love everybody's curls! Amazing transformations(:

I've been CG for a little more than 5 weeks. My hair began to lose its curl and it seemed no matter what I did to revive it, it remained dull and dry. I realized that I started using heavy cones on my hair which I learned a few years ago that my hair didn't quite like them. So I stopped the sulfates and cones and I see such an improvement in my hairs softness, moisture and curl formation.

So I had been doing modified CG for about 6 months. I wasn't using shampoo, I was using a t-shirt to scrunch, but I still was using products with silicones. My hairdresser yelled at me to grow a pair and thros out the silicones once and for all. I'm so glad I did! I've been getting more compliments and asked more about my hair in the last month than in the last year. Looking back over photos from years ago, it's amazing the difference...
The first pic is pre-CG, the second is during my mod-but-not-really CG, and the rest are after a month of pure CG.
Also, for those girls that like volume at the root, Big Sexy Hair has this anti-humidity volumizing spray mousse that is CG approved. I sprayed some into my roots before using a diffuser for about 3 minutes, and it really made sure my curls were not stuck to my scalp. They were free and separated, yet defined. New fave product.

Thank you! :-) After I t-shirt scrunch, there are usually a few curls on top that I twirl around my finger just so the curl pattern goes in the shame direction all the way down. A little diffusing to set it, but I mostly air-dry.
Whenever I noticed my ends were not curling like the rest of my hair, it was always time for a trim. After that they spring right back.
