Post your before & After CG pics-beforeafter.jpg

First photo from about three years ago... the second from a few weeks ago... This was the thread that got me going, and I'm so happy to see that I got some of the results that I drooled over looking at all your before and afters here. Can't wait for my one year CG-versary!

I'll probably post again in 5 months or so because I have only been cg for 1 month but I couldn't help myself I had to post.

The first three are pre-cg (the first two is when I still *gasp* brushed my hair dry and the third is no brushing and low sulfates)the fourth is 1 day cg and the last is one month cg.

Curlyunique- you have what I want! My hair is the same length and style but not such nicely formed curls. I see you are using Suave & Tresemme- I have those, but I have been using sulfate free shampoo instead of co-washing. Please tell me your routine so I can try to copy it

Wavyshibby, your hair is what I want for my daughters. One has that length and curl but not the thickness, not much we can do about that. The other has the thickness but not the length. It sure is hard to grow long hair when it takes the scenic route! Love your hair.

I found with sulfate free shampoo my hair was kind of poufy and not as defined, but that may just be my problem.

Hmm my routine is pretty minimal. I co-wash, then I condition normally and after I rinse out all my conditioner I add a tiny amount of my co-wash conditioner to the length of my hair as leave in. Then with dripping wet hair I smooth/rake in my gel (so it's distributed everywhere) then I scrunch my hair all over (when I scrunch I hold each section of my hair to my scalp for a few second then let go) and then take a old t-shirt and scrunch out the excess water, I do all of this with my head hanging upside down. Next I flip my head back over and fix my part then I let it air dry completely without touching it.

Thanks. I only co-washed once- I think I'll give it another chance. I put my girls (11 & 14) on the sulfate free poo because I was afraid they wouldn't scrub long enough to co-wash, then I decided to use it too. I'll see how I get along, maybe get them to do it too.

No problem. Hope it works out for you and if your girls decide to try it as well hope it works for them too.

I just started CG about a week ago, but I've noticed a transformation already.

The first is before CG, the second is after my last sulfate wash, and the last is 5 days CG. I'm really looking forward to seeing my hair in a few weeks!

I love this thread and it was the one that first led me to this website.

I started DD and I on curly girl method (or slightly modified version) a year and a half ago. The results are amazing in her case. In mine, not quite so dramatic, but she's a curly/wavy while I'm just a wavy.

So here's her results.

Before (sulfate shampoos, silicone conditioners and combing)

After 1st CG wash:

And now, 1 1/2 years later (sorry, weird face, but this pic was the best for her hair):

She still has to battle frizz, but that is more because she's 6 and a busy little girl and gets her hair into everything.

Sorry about the size
