Question

wow, everyone's hair looks amazing! im pretty new to CG, and i think my hair is somewhere between 2a-2b. but i have a question for everyone that has experience. after i cowash, if i put mousse in my hair it will be somewhat curly, but if i just put a leave-in and no mousse, it wont curl at all. will this get better in time, or do you think my hair will always be just slightly wavy/curly?

Give it some time. As a 2a/b I suggest getting some LALooks or other gel product to apply while wet and plop it for alittle while and pineappling at night. You are going to have to use some products to get more defined waves/curls. If in a rush, pixie diffuse (diffuse after scrunching hair up towards head with your hand. I turn on blow dryer after placing the diffuser on your hair and then turning off to avoid frizz). It took me a few weeks for my hair to recover from all the years of straightening. A good cut doesn't hurt either.

I just started researching about curly hair yesterday. For twenty three years of my life I lived with dry frizzy hair n used to b jealous of all curly girls. Never realised that my hair were actually curls which just needed care. Got rebonding done twice. Last time was 4 years ago. Now my curls r back and they look better. Can anyone guide me a little as to what cowashing is. I have never been able to find any good sulphate n silicone free shampoo or conditioner here in India. U girls r so lucky to have such amazing products. By the way I m type 3B, medium width, low porosity and high density.

Wari, I don't know where in India you are, but when I was in Bangalore, I went to the Body Shop there. I bought some of their banana conditioner. It is silicone free. I'm not sure about the shampoos. It smells really nice too. So, if you are near a body shop, they should have some conditioners that are silicone free. I also bought their hair oil, but plain coconut oil is great too.

No problem. That's the only conditioner I bought. I did buy the hair oil, and that one is fine. It's not plain coconut oil, but it doesn't have silicones. If you see a conditioner you like there, you can post the ingredients on here and someone should be able to tell you if it's ok. I think some of the pomade type things there were also ok, but I don't remember what I looked at.

CG since 12/28/12!!

I created a potion yesterday in a spray bottle that I purchased from Sally's.

Filled to about 1/2 with water.
10 droplets of Neutral Protein Filler
6 droplets of Coconut Oil
10 Sprays of Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Miracle Dry Oil.

I wasn't sure if this concoction would work or not so it was a test run. Here are my results.

First photo is day 1. The rest of from today.

Today's Routine
-As I Am Co-wash
-GVP Balm let in for about 3-5 min
-KCKT leave-in on soaking wet hair
-Separated my hair into a top and bottom layer and added a few sprays on my potion on each then combed.
-Scrunched soaking wet hair with microfiber towel
-SM Y&B thickening spray - 2 sprays on hands and scrunched.
-Eden Body works coconut shea curl defining creme - covered 2 fingers with half a dime size and scrunched it into hair.
-Then used KCCC - quarter size. Dabbed hair with microfiber cloth one last time.
-Then diffused until 80% dry.
-After my hair is dry, I coat my hair with a small amount of Coconut Oil and scrunch out the crunch.

I'll have to try out this routine again to see if it continues to perform. I have yet to find a good Summer routine(I live in Humid Austin Texas) - Hoping this is the one!
