So I think I'm finally going to try it...

Hi, I've never posted here but I've been reading the posts for a while now, and I've decided to try the CG method because I'm really fed up with my hair.
The only thing is I don't know what products to use.

My hair is quite fine and damaged badly at the ends (I'm gong to cut it soon) but okay at the roots. About 6 months ago it was nice and 3a/3b but due to straightening it went horrible and is now about 2b. I'd really like to get my curly hair back so what products that are not too expensive do you recommend?

I know you are not supposed to use silicones but nearly all the conditioners I look at seem to have them. And what products should I use afterwards, as in gel/mousse?

I'd really like to try this as you all seem to have had amazing results.

Thank you.
Sulfate-free shampoo, you have to read labels, but they are in the discount stores and Sally's. Suave Naturals coconut conditioner works well for co-wash. That is what I use it for.

Deep conditioners differ, but you can find lots of recipes and suggestions in the hair recipes section.

I have 3a/b hair, color treated. I use LA Looks or La Belle curly gel, Suave (I think) curl cream and sometime mix the gel with pure aloe gel (Fruit of the earth brand).

Good luck.

Good decision, Dreamingoutloud! An excellent thread was recently initiated by QuirkyYogini that contains a bunch of links to really useful information for people in your position:

I don't know. Maybe start a new thread with that question in the title so any UKers can answer you. They might overlook this one....
