too much protein in this conditioner?

Hello, I have been doing the stretch test the past few days and the results were:
one strand stretched for a bit then broke
one strand stretched a lot and didnt retract again
all the rest of the many strands I tested broke immediately.
So I assume the results mean that my hair still needs moisture and no protein.
However I just got this really great conditioner which really helpes me detangle and is great for hair growth, but I notice it has protien in it.
The protien is near the end, so I am wondering if you guys think it would be okay to continue using it.

The conditioner is called Elpair Aloe Conditioner (it is locally made in Maple Ridge, BC so you wont be able to google it :P)
The ingredients are:
purified water, certified organic botanical blend of lavendar, chamomile, horsetail (herb), rosehip, burdock, organic safflower oil, grapeseed extract, rosemary, burdock, avocado oil, biodynamic macadamia oil, organic locust bean gum, australian bush extract of kakdu plum, canadian wild crafted red clover, cetyl stearyl alcohol, aloe vera extract, panthenol, citric acid, whole wheat protein, jojoba oil, vitamin e, vegetable glycerin, lavendar essential oil, biotin extract, stinging nettle, hydro-gycinate (plant extract preservative)

This is the perfect conditioner for me trying to grow my hair thicker and longer but I am worried about the protein.

Although my hair broke right away in the strand test, my hair doesnt feel brittle, its very soft, people always comment on how soft it is, but I still feel I need more moisture in it. Would this conditioner give me too much protein?

It doesn't seem like too much, since the protein is listed at the bottom. However, some people are more sensitive to wheat protein than other proteins, so that might be it.

Also, I notice that you are using Suave Tropical Coconut. I'm pretty sure that has more proteins than your Aloe one.
Suave Tropical Coconut has protein? Do proteins have chemical names? It doesnt say "protein" anywhere in the ingredients but I didnt even think about them having a different name because I always read things that said protein (although they were usually more natural ones..)

Does the Suave say amino acids? Amino acids are proteins as far as hair is concerned. But, it all depends on your individual sensitivities if you have them.

Wheat does tend to be one the ones that gets the most people, but as it is near the bottom, it never hurts to test. If youget straw hair, then you know to back off.

oh, it does... it says silk amino acids.
hmm, well... I guess I will just see how it goes.

I am one of the ones sensitive to wheat protein. Most grain proteins actually like soy and millet. It's okay with silk proteins and keratin. Some peoples hair seems to like proteins.

I try to avoid grain proteins but can use occasionaly. The conditioner you posted sounds really good. I suppose you could suspend using it for a spell and see how your hair goes without it.

The reaction I get from wheat protein is hair feels dry mostly the ends - it does not feel soft. Maybe you need more moisture as you said.
