blowdryer / diffuser recommendations

I saw a blowdryer in Sephora for $300. After I fainted I decided to ask all of you.

My current blowdryer is about to die; my diffuser is worse. What is a good blow dryer that doesn't weigh a ton and I'd like to get the diffuser with fingers. Thanks much!
I had the same reaction at Sephora. I bought a Babyliss ProTT at Amazon.com for $80. It's pretty powerful and works well. I've been very happy with it.

I have the Metropolis z-ion hair dryer and diffuser; I really like it. I had purchased the Devachan Sun dryer and diffuser; I never use it anymore. I don't recommend it.

I got hooked on professional hair dryers about 10 years ago. After discovering them, I finally understood why my hair never looked like it did at the salon. IMO it is the only way to go, but everyone's opinions differ on that point. Many like the cheaper ones because they don't get as hot or blow as strong. I love the z-ion because of the negative ions and infrared technology. My hair dries much better and faster, without the frizz and damage.
Type: 3a fine & dense, with normal porosity, terrible product junkie
ROUTINE: LI, enhancer, gel, plop with Curlease towel, serum product (either CIAB or Gel-les'c), clip & diffuse.
Too many favourite products to list ... I finally have my routine that works and alot of products to choose from. My product stash is huge, but well loved !!!
Thanks to both LoloDSM and FrizzBGone for your replies. I really appreciate the suggestions. What a great site!

If you can get your hands on a radiant heat hair dryer.. I love mine and no diffuser is needed. No frizz with this.. I bought mine at Sally's for 15$

If I'm not mistaken I think jilli has this too

Thanks to all. Ms Giblet what does ITA mean? Curly Mo I wonder why more people don't know about a radiant heat dryer. I never heard of it before. Will look into all suggestions. Cheers

A little late to the party, but I have the Conair ionic pancake dryer, it's made specifically for curly hair. I don't even know if it exists anymore--I bought it about 2 years ago--but it is fabulous!

Hi Laura - never too late. The name of the dryer makes me laugh. I've never seen that but maybe it's still around. Thanks for response
Kinda makes you hungry, huh? The name comes from the shape. It is still around, I googled it:

And the price is nice.

I got mine several months ago when there was so much talk here about new hair dryers. I was looking for one with a low heat setting that didn't blow my hair all over the place. A few people mentioned they had just bought one so I jumped on board!

Sally's doesn't have the radiant heat dryer anymore. They are terrific.

This is what it looks like:

There was a clone that Babyliss made called the Jilbere de Paris Tourmaline Radiant Heat Ionic Hair Dryer. Some times Ebay has them.

I'm curious about that Conair CurlFusion "pancake" dryer too. I read somewhere the settings were too warm. How do you feel about the temp. settings?
