I just need to vent.

So I have been having a terrible past few weeks. Not only with family drama, but with my dreadful bangs and horrible hair. So I have been doing my best to hide my bangs and putting all my hair in a ponytail as tight and neat as I can get it for work. Usually with a pretty scrunchy. ( I do try a little bit) But my hair is so bad, on days i'm not working I don't even bother with it. I get weekends to myself so for those two days my hair is perfectly pathetic. I do at least try to make it look nice at work, though.

Yet, bothing I do seems to work for it. It's even too thick to get it flat and straight! And I basically stopped caring when a guy at work saw my hair on a really frizzy day, and said "what happened to YOU? Decided to stop brushing it and taking showers, eh C? Buy a blowdryer, a flatiron or something! If you can't afford it, i'll make the first donation." He then threw 10 bucks on my desk and asked me to "fix my hair".

I am through with my hair.
I feel for you with your hair problems and all but that guy??? What an a******...I'd have smacked him. Well probably not but what a jerk. Why do people feel they have the right to make nasty comments about someone else's appearance...he must think he's perfect or something to feel he has the right to say something like that. It makes absoluetly NO sense to me at all! PLEASE ignore him, he's not worth it.

Do you have a mutual respect policy at work? We have one where I work that requires people to respect others and make a safe working environment etc etc...if you have one I would seriously consider talking to a supervisor about it, that's just wrong no one should have to deal with that crap.

And as for giving up on your hair, don't give up on yourself because of some nasty comment from someone pathetic like him

Thanks Jess.

I never thought of talking to my boss about that. Maybe I should, since it really brought me down. This guy is pretty smug and full of himself because he is great looking and people tell him this. All the time.

Your coworker sounds like an immature, insecure man.

As for your hair, I am so sorry. Those days are so rough. On days like that I just want to go home and cry.

Tell me about your curly routine!

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.

No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.
Hugs to you. Can I help in any way? Tell me about your routine and maybe all of us can help in some way. Hang in there.
