I didn't vote because I'm kinda indifferent to mine, since no one calls me it but me mum.
When I was little I had these fat sausage curls like the cartoon character li'l lulu, so I got the nickname lulu, or sometimes my mom just calls me 'lou.
It's kinda cute, but embarassing if she does it in front of people.

I've been called the Puerto Rican Shirely Temple and before I knew what I was doing (by my darling brother), Brillo. I told him at least I can straigthen mine out; yours will probably fall out soon (and it did, ).

I didn't vote, cuz I've got mixed feelings about them.
Pippi Longstocking, (a character from kids books in the 70s, for you young'uns) in elementary school, cuz my mom would put my hair into 2 braids that would kind of curl up like hers did.
Annie, also as a kid, when I had a big curly almost-but-not-quite 'fro, and my hair was much redder then too.
Troll doll, by this girl in college who was obviously mean. She never said it to my face but my roommate said that's what she called me behind my back because she thought my hair looked just like that.
That one was not my favorite nick-name!

"Curly" by several people, which was meant in a cute way and I liked.
"Diana Ross" and "Slash" in high school, which I also liked.
"Frizz-head" by some girls who didn't like me.
"Bush woman" or "bush head" by my so-called friends in junior high.
"Scary Spice" and "Freddie" (Cree Summer's character on A Diff'rent World) in college - liked those too.
"Pouffy" and "pouff-head" from several people in college.
My mama has called me "angel hair" like the pasta ever since I can remember and I like that. Before he knew she did that, my husband called me "angel hair" and he still does.
Also, politically incorrect, but my aunt and some of my cousins used to call me "gypsy" or "gypsy girl" because of my hair.
Urbancurl, my braids used to curl up and stick out like Pippi Longstocking's too! I think people used to comment on that as well.

I didn't vote because I have mixed feelings on the ones I was called:
the negative ones:
Brillo - called by moron types in jr. high. Now it rolls off my back to think about it, but back then it was fairly hurtful. But then again, what isn't when you're 13?
Afro - see above.
the positive ones:
Poof - my bestest friend in jr. high called me this after we tried putting my short hair in side ponytails. The result were these little...poofs! So hence, I became Poof, and called her Boof. They were goofy but cute nicknames.
Lambey-head - my college roommate used to rub my head when I had a bad day and call me her "Little Lambey-Head" It was sweet.
Baa-Baa Lamb - courtesy of mom.

MIckey mouse, because of the afro puff style pig tails my mom put my hair in... in elementary school
Birdsnest, but this dumb guy in summer camp in middle school. Who, btw, tried to pick me up like 10 years later and I told him off.
My FIL calls me curly, which is actually a good one.

A lady at church calls me Curly Sue.
My friends and I have nickednamed ourselves Curly (me), Larry, and Moe after the 3 Stooges.
Not quite a nickname, but a guy told me I had hair like Hermione's from Harry Potter. I was a little offended because her hair isn't supposed to be nice, and I told him so, but he said he meant it in a good way. Whatever.

My hair has been compared to Shirley Temple, especially when I was younger. I didn't particularly care.
My mother always called me "moptop" in exasperation when I was a child because my hair was really tangly and I hated it when she brushed it. I didn't particularly mind that, either.
Nobody's given me a nickname recently about my hair. Mostly, people just tell me it looks good.

I used to be called "THE BLACK HOLE". This was when I was 12 yrs old and had a really, short puffy afro. Kids used to throw pieces of pencil lead in my hair and call it the black hole. I HATED IT!!!
