help me choose Suave product! (edit:Firm Control Gel result)
I got a coupon good for a free Suave Professionals styling product (from their Can You Tell? contest thingy). Should I get:
a. Volumizing Mousse provides body, volume and hold as well as Paul Mitchell Sculpting Foam
b. Firm Control Gel holds and Controls as well as Biolage Gelee
c. Volumizing Gel volumizes as well as Matrix Amplify Liquid Gel

don't get the volumizing gel, it was disappointing. there's a thread about it on the product review board now. i'm not really a big mousse person, so i'd go with the firm control gel

Firm control gel is the best thing on this planet for $2.49!!!! It is WONDERFUL!!! I love it. It's actually better than Biolage (it's supposedly a knockoff).
The volumizing gel sucks. I bought it this week and it created brillo frizz. NO GOOD.
Haven't tried the other

I have no idea, but I love the shape and length of your haircut, and your colour. And I don't think you have 3b/c hair at all - it looks more 3b. But it looks great!

I got it a few months ago but I'm just getting around to using it before it expires. I got it here: http://www.canyoutell.com/
but I'm not sure if they still offer the coupons. It was part of the campaign that you guessed if the model used Suave or name brand, and got a coupon for trying. But you can still go to the www.suave.com site and register to receive special offers.

I hated the firm control gel it gave me a really weird scalp issue that only went away when i stopped using it. I have never tried the other two.

Eeek! What kind of issues? I was just thinking of getting the Firm Control Gel since it got the most votes.

This is sooooooo gross but I'll tell you anyway for some reason when i use this I get this horrible dry patch on my scalp right towards the front of my head , I'm talking like huge flakes here not like dandruff and it's only in one spot its very strange perhaps i'm just allergic to something in it .

Sounds like an allergic reaction. I'll have to check the ingredients, I'm allergic to some things as well.

I just picked up the Firm Control gel. I hope it works because our local grocery store is clearing it out at 99 cents! I can stock up at that price!

tried it today. the results: lots of crunch but also lots of curls!
I may have used too much gel, not having tried it before. But the crunchies scrunched right out and I have great curls!
I did use my CK under the gel since I didn't know if you all used this alone or layered.
CurlEEEE and others - how much do you use on shoulder length hair? Do you layer or use it alone? Thanks!
PS - if this continues to work for the next few days, I'll be going out and buying up all I can!

I found a great new combo, Curlilocks. Here's what I do...I condish wash hair with Suave naturals and molasses. Then I rake through 8-9 pumps of Aussie Volume+condish dual personality foam, then I rake through a glob (I'd say a tablespoon) of Suave Firm control gel. Then I plop for about 20 mins. Then diffuse. IMPORTANT...I do not touch my hair with my fingers when diffusing. I cover my hands with my microfiber towel to scrunch. I learned that on this site and it makes a HUGE difference. I get a lot less frizz that way. (See last pic in my album)... When done diffusing I mix a drop (I mean a drop...)of Biosilk Rock hard gel and a squirt (about a 1/2 tsp) of suave firm control gel and scrunch into any frizzy areas. It comes out great!!! However, note that I like crunchy defined curls...so if you want softer curls you may want to use less gel. I'm a TOTAL GEL-A-HOLIC

PS -- for 99 cents I'd buy every tube they have. I love the stuff. I thought it was a bargain at $2.50!!!
