This comes up a lot. If you do a search for 'acronyms' or 'abbreviations' you'll find a ton of threads.

There are also some acronyms in the FAQs.

I did a search for acronyms and didn't turn up a lot (at least not condensed), but I didn't try "abbreviations." Thanks for the hint!

CurlyOver40! 10-09-2008 07:48 AM

I just found out the other day that:

m = medium texture
iii = thick

I would see these in people's siggy's and it would drive me nuts trying to figure out what they stood for!
Thanks SSSS! :wave:

I have a suggestion for this thread... if the OP would copy and paste all the additions into her
original post, it may be easier to find what we're looking for instead of having to read all the posts to find that one acronym or abbreviation we're scratching our heads over. ;)

Great idea I was thinking the same thing, you should put that on the FEEDBACK board. I've been on there too much lately!

BotticelliBabe 10-17-2008 10:25 AM

A new one that just popped up this week:

LVPNG - L'oreal Vive Pro Nutri Gloss, usually in ref. to the conditioner (pink bottle in the US) or treatment (pink jar under "Envive" in the UK)

No problemo! :D I can't change the message title though - an admin will have to do that it looks like.

Arjae 10-18-2008 04:38 PM

Thanks so much for the list! I COULD NOT figure out what IIRC stood for...but now I know!

CurlyOver40! 10-18-2008 06:09 PM

Hi, I edited the title for you.

Arjae 10-19-2008 05:07 PM

Here's one I don't see on the list: ISO. I don't know what it means! They use it on the swap board. Is it even an abbreviation?
